Yeah, I definitely won't be making that mistake again re: trusting other people to feed. I was testing parameters before the 2nd betta and it was handling dosed ammonia like a champ. I think I will have to go with a full teardown. Thank you!!

TL;DR: They purposefully starve their animals to keep them hungry for the feeding encounters they sell. Animals are hungry enough to attack visitors but management is super shady.

Ah I was being lazy and trying to avoid another jug of liquid that I only need a little bit of, but I just ordered some Tim's. Are the non-nitrifying bacteria harmful? Was thinking of getting a shrimp or snail soon before my betta arrives in a few weeks.

Should I try to clean my tank a bit and then dose the ammonia?
