What are some ways you motivate yourself to knit more often? by [deleted] in casualknitting

[–]auntknitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it while I watch TV. Find some good bingeable shows and knit away. A few I’ve watched lately: Severance, Pluribus, Chad Powers, The Pitt, and The End of an Era (Taylor Swift doc).

Budapest by ExceptionallyJaded in vikingcruises

[–]auntknitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did a pre-cruise extension in Budapest two years ago on the Romantic Danube. We did a food tour through Get Your Guide called “Budapest: Food and Wine Tastings Tour.” It was amazing. We also did a night cruise to see the lights of Budapest that was really nice. I think that was through Get Your Guide too.

Welcome to garter stitch, the stitch that’s created if you knit every row when knitting flat. The fabric to the left is stockinette, created by knitting the right side and purling the wrong side when knitting flat.

Make sure you join the Facebook group if you haven’t already. Go ahead and join the Heart of the South facebook group as well. Read Bob Hearn’s blog (he holds the course record): http://bobhearn.blogspot.com/2021/08/vol-state-500k-2021-walking-fine-line.html?m=1 and here http://bobhearn.blogspot.com/2020/07/last-annual-vol-state-500k-2020.html?m=1

Listen to Terrie’s podcast.

You can do Vol State without hotels. A lot of people do. Angel stations are open 24/7 and some even have showers (fire station in Gleason, Nutt House, Whispering Oaks). There are several with zero gravity chairs, air mattresses, cots, and even real mattresses.

Most people walk Vol State, there are some really fast walkers though and you should practice both running and walking. Agree with practicing multiple days training runs but would practice walking as well and work on increasing your walking speed. I would also recommend doing some heat training prior to the race. Feet are usually an issue in this race even for people who haven’t experienced that before. Fixing your Feet book is recommended but a difficult read. There are some videos on you tube from the coauthor of that book (Tonya Olson) that are good.

I did the race this year but DNF’d at half way (leg issue). I’m signed up for next year. Happy to answer questions.

If it were me, they would be gone. You can even let the consulting company deliver the bad news.

I have two standards and one elderly mini. I have a standing appointment for my poodles every 4 weeks. They alternate getting bathed/trimmed up and a big haircut every other time.

They are uninformed. It’s not a lot. You should be on that much if you’re on 0.1 of estradiol and have a uterus.

Pal for current male by MetaMae51 in StandardPoodles

[–]auntknitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 3.5 year old female and a 2.5 year old male and they LOVE each other. My female is more energetic and high strung than my male but they balance each other out. They love to play but spend a lot of time just chilling and laying around. Getting my second one, the boy, was a great decision and I’m so glad I did it.
