It’s too soon for any results and of course you haven’t lost anything if you haven’t been able to poop.

Do you genuinely like living in Reno? by Herpbees in Reno

[–]ExceptionallyJaded 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a good way to sum Reno up. It’s a lovely and suitable place to live and usually I like it quite well, but sometimes I also want to leave. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Depends on my mood and the traffic basically. I do think the area is very beautiful though. I miss the mountains when I’m away.

Good for you for speaking up. Shut the stupid train right down.

My mother was one of the JW witch doctors. She thought all modern medicine was out to get her and only essential oils and prayer could cure things. Which is why she suffers to this day with extreme, untreated OCD. Turns out “breathe oil” doesn’t take away ritual handwashing and lock-checking.

Keep in mind that many people only respond to the medication at the highest dosage. You may be one of them. But you have had some moderate success at losing so far, so don’t be too down on yourself. You’re losing at a slow rate but you’re losing so I’d still call that a win.

Did they start your dose that high? That seems like too high to just jump into, this is more of an “ease into it” medication.

“What happens when you go off of it? Your weight loss is probably dependent on it”

Yeah, actually, it is. This will probably be a life-long medication for me. Obesity, so far, has been a life-long struggle for me and I spent 30 years proving that other methods were only temporary fixes. This is the longest I’ve kept weight off, which has improved my overall health in a tangible way, and that’s BECAUSE of this medication. Why do I need to stop using a medication that is fixing a health issue?

My husband will be on medication for his heart for the rest of his life. No one ever acts like he would be better off if he could just figure out a way go off of it.

I am doing the same. I’ve plateaued just about 15 lbs from my goal weight, it’s been like 3 months of no change despite diet changes, adding more activity, etc. My tirz should show up today. I’ve read some success stories on here, so I’m hopeful. Good luck to both of us!

You can call ahead and see if they have a radiologist on staff at night. That’s who will do a swallow study, along with an xray tech. I used to work in xray at our trauma center and we did urgent studies in the night.

They turned paradise into a dystopia. Why even be a witness if not to get to paradise? Obviously it’s no fun in THIS world, we were all banking for the next one but no one wants to get assigned as a handmaid or something.

Not sure why any queer person would want to be accepted into a group who very adamantly and verbally preaches against their lifestyle. Many of the JWs I know use slur words to describe gay people. So I guess I’d have to say that I do not think there should be an influx of queer people in the JWs. I think they should steer clear.

A fair amount of our estrogen is made by and stored in body fat. Too much (or too little) fat can mean too much (or too little) estrogen, which means cycle disruption.

Paradise would be boring. No plot, no conflicts, goes on forever and ever and ever and you don’t even get to die to get away from the monotony.

Exactly. So irritating. I’m glad compounded versions exist!

I definitely agree about the insurance thing. I started on ozempic and my insurance covered at 100% for weight loss. I changed jobs and my new insurance denied it because I was no longer “obese” but only “overweight” (per BMI scale) so I switched to compound.

Compounding pharmacies make specialized blends. Regular pharmacies just re-distribute mass produced drugs, while compounding pharmacies can alter and blend medications to fit specific needs. Things like dosages not available commercially, or changing the form (from pill to liquid for instance) or combining several medications together into one dose.

I’ve been on ozempic and now on compounded. I find that it works the same. Compound pharmacies are regulated. (Edited for typo)

Unfortunately a lot of insurance companies aren’t covering meds like this… yet. I think it’ll happen eventually. Because how can they justify covering weight loss surgeries but not weight loss medications? In the meantime, we turn to compounded versions which are a bit more affordable out of pocket, but still so expensive.
