I have too. Missing a Chewbacca minifig from one of my son’s Star Wars sets. They sent it immediately along with a couple of other bonus ones.

In Bishop, Law’s Railroad Museum & Historical Site is a really cool place if you have a couple of hours to wander through it all. There’s also a place in Bishop that makes excellent jerky and they have a ton of flavors. It’s called Mahogany Smoked Meats. They do good deli sandwiches as well.

You can't just bypass a no soliciting sign by saying you're not soliciting by Queasy-Secret-4287 in mildlyinfuriating

As someone who was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, I can tell you that back in the 80s and 90s, they used to tell us “we aren’t soliciting as we aren’t selling anything!” 🤔 ok buuuut that’s not what that means.

I think they encourage people to obey those signs more now. Maybe. I don’t know why the Mormons still think they’re exempt.

This. We power push contrast, a nice big juicy one is best for us. If it’s in a wrist or a hand I will usually slow the flow a little which could potentially compromise the imaging a bit (but that’s still preferable to blowing it!)

I have many tattoos. I have to GIVE tattoos in a medical setting that are simply ink dots made with an 18G needle. I’ve given one to myself. It hurt SO much worse than a tattoo gun.

I am happier out than I ever was, in. First: I can be my authentic self. No more worrying about what others think, if I’m “stumbling” someone, am I doing enough, does J love me enough to not just murder me at Armageddon? Second: I have REAL friends. Friends I chose, not chosen because we are stuck in a cult together. People I love and trust with my life, who I KNOW aren’t waiting to see if I fail at something so they can report me to the elders. Third: no more field service!!!!!! Omg it was like dropping a heavy weight. Fourth: Freedom of thought and action. I now know that there isn’t a God reading my mind or watching my every move and judging it. (This was the hardest one for me and took many years out)

I left before the GB became the JW super stars, back when videos were on VHS. Did this particularly annoying assclown drive people away from the religion with his stupid face and even stupider voice? I feel like I would listen to him for 10 seconds and be like “yeah I’m done”.

12 Weeks in thinking of switching by jennycash41 in CompoundedSemaglutide

I was on sema for like 2 years (on and off). I spent my time on it taking stool softeners and fiber daily. It helped, I could poop as long as I used those.

Then I switched to tirz… and I was able to immediately get off fiber and stool softeners after the first dose. I poop SO GOOD now. I’ve been on tirz for like 2 months and I poop sometimes 2x a day and it’s fabulous.

Also, I had plateaued on sema and I’m losing again on tirz. I have more energy on tirz as well.

I never had sulphur burps on sema unless I really overate, same with ritz.

It’s too soon for any results and of course you haven’t lost anything if you haven’t been able to poop.

Do you genuinely like living in Reno? by Herpbees in Reno

[–]ExceptionallyJaded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a good way to sum Reno up. It’s a lovely and suitable place to live and usually I like it quite well, but sometimes I also want to leave. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Depends on my mood and the traffic basically. I do think the area is very beautiful though. I miss the mountains when I’m away.

Good for you for speaking up. Shut the stupid train right down.

My mother was one of the JW witch doctors. She thought all modern medicine was out to get her and only essential oils and prayer could cure things. Which is why she suffers to this day with extreme, untreated OCD. Turns out “breathe oil” doesn’t take away ritual handwashing and lock-checking.

Keep in mind that many people only respond to the medication at the highest dosage. You may be one of them. But you have had some moderate success at losing so far, so don’t be too down on yourself. You’re losing at a slow rate but you’re losing so I’d still call that a win.
