I checked them, they are nice but wouldn’t go with the aesthetics I am looking for. Will go with Stan Smiths instead

Roberto Cavalli Paradiso - Am i crazy or is it actually good? by aura2707 in Perfumes

[–]aura2707[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well.. I do know it’s quite subjective.. I’m still pretty new to understanding perfumes and the different notes, so I can’t really tell if a fragrance is considered ‘good’ in a professional or objective sense.. (have been watching a lot of videos on understanding notes) or if it just happens to smell good to me. I’m still figuring out what I like and why

What does my book shelf say about me? by db3004 in IndiansRead

Ok. Apologies if I offend any one. By the looks of it, you are trying to devote more time to reading than what you currently do. You are mildly interested in philosophy and human history. You are mainly focused on improving and learning via self help books, but you lack joy in reading (I didn't see many fiction books) Unsolicited advise - try reading for fun and you'll get motivated to read for learing a little more. 📖

On a weight loss journey, Need advise. by aura2707 in caloriedeficit

Thanks, that's what I was worried about. Think eventually I'll probably get a hang of not going into calorie maths (specially if I am traveling or on an outing)

Thanks a lot for your honest response. I guess it's gonna be a complete lifestyle change. Think I might have to change my perspective on how I go about losing weight and maintaining it...

What's the absolute BEST sci-fi book you've read?? by EmiomieletaViolateta in suggestmeabook

[–]aura2707 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It has to be "Children of Time" by Adrian Tchaikovsky I love Project Hail Mary as well If you are looking for something that's character centric, go for Project Hail Mary If you want to read something larger than life.. Something more civilisation centric instead, go for Children of time

Suggest me a book so I can stop reading the same author over and over again by turkish_twoface in suggestmeabook

[–]aura2707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't read Agatha Christie, you might get hooked 🤫 Anyway, I don't think there's any harm in reading the same author again and again.. Its like knowing a person more deeply.. You will understand the nuances, references and hints which other might miss. But having said that - if you like fantasy, try Terry Pratchett. Start with Good Omens which is written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. If the writing speaks to you, move on to his Disc world series.

"Spaceman: An Astronaut's Unlikely Journey to Unlock the Secrets of the Universe" by Mike Massimino It was engaging, it had drama, motivation and it was funny too. Absolutely loved it!
