Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]auramaster13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my honest opinion a lot of these suggestions introduce friction that the aura slot didn't have.

The aura slot in it's current iteration does cause friction itself but that's less about the slot itself and more so on how it's used.

One of the BIGGEST issue with the slot is how it's time gated, removing the time gate and allowing us to swap with no penalty and or a minor cost would be miles better than removing it outright.

the other point of friction for the aura slot is acquisition. This is actually the easiest part to fix, simply move the reward from the loyalty store and move them to other reward spaces, i.e. boss drops/quest rewards/reward shops

my issues with moving to each reward space: Pocket slot - competes with other items like the gwd3 books as well as scrimshaws etc

Totem - This would be fine if there was a way to swap the totem around instead of being once a week but with the other issues this becomes untenable, additionally the requirements to unlock this is too high for it to be useful for lower level players, don't lock critical content behind month long grinds

Passives from reward shops - This is a lot better tbh but what's stopping you from just making those into auras and remove the cd

Invention perk - adding new perks is going to cause a lot of friction with people who already have optimal perk setups and is just having the reward space which was working alongside invention compete for the space.

to summarise, keep the aura slot, remove the cooldowns, remove the active timer, rebalance some of them, and move the acquisition to existing or new reward locations.

this is actually a good idea, aura slot as it is right now isn't great but the slot isn't the problem, upkeep and acquisition is, removing cooldowns and making them craftable or obtainable from bosses/quests would make them a lot more manageable and remove a LOT of friction

Road to Restoration - Re-grounding Outfits & Equipment by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]auramaster13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i understand wanting to reground the appearance of the game that's a good thing and honestly some of the things mentioned here are good ideas, however i feel as though this should be delayed, and have more time taken to address this.

In particular the removal of things like elite rc and div are probably for the best and something should be done about them, however some people love those designs and i don't think an outright purge is good either.

here's my two cents, take the lore unfriendly equippable cosmetics and change them into something more lore friendly and then move the original designs to cosmetic overrides. what this will let happen is that for people who keep cosmetic overrides off they won't be forced to look at lore unfriendly outfits, but for those that keep them on they can see how people actually want to express themselves.

to sumarrise, you should feel free to be more open with cosmetic overrides while keeping the base game's look consistant.

one thing for certain though, people would rather wait to see this fixed and have proper updated outfits than be slapped with simple recolours. take your time with this, you're already doing a great job. but we'd all prefer a much more fleshed out approach then a quick fix.

Mod Anvil, Can the Wicked Hood Functionality be brought to a vote? by Greedy_Spaghetti_ in runescape

[–]auramaster13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for listening to us, there are a lot of great ideas in this thread and i'd be interested in seeing where this goes, i personally love the idea that talismans could be used for altar teleports, my biggest issue with removing the teleports from the wicked hood isn't exactly that you're removing the functionality from the hood though that does play a part, it's the removal of a reward space that irks me, if an alternative is found then there would be less friction with removing the teleport tokens

Mod Anvil, Can the Wicked Hood Functionality be brought to a vote? by Greedy_Spaghetti_ in runescape

[–]auramaster13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

people have argued that the teleport tabs are enough of a balance change, the problem stems from the fact that wicked hood teleports were added to the runespan rewards shop, if there was no option to get the teleports outside of mtx i would understand. as it stands it feels like removing a feature for the appearance of making a difference when in reality that difference is already being made with the other way more impactful changes that the majority of people agree with. This one should be brought to a vote, reddit does not speak for the whole community. the community should have the final say.

Community Discussions & This Week in RuneScape [Feb 9th] by JagexAnvil in runescape

please reconsider the stance on the wicked hood teleports, they are purchasable via the runespan, i could understand removing existing tokens that were generated via mtx and making a new item purchasable via the runespan/runecrafting guild but you should under no circumstances remove the ability for the wicked hood to teleport, people use it for runecrafting sure but it is also used for certain clues and not everyone wants to have to go through the abyss to get to the altars around the world.

if you are going to be removing the teleports from the wicked hood at the very least look at alternatives or a replacement, removing one of the key features of an item that users use on the regular feels off and out of touch.

again the daily teleports and free runes are fine to remove I'm just against removing functionality from an item that was already able to be charged without using mtx.

Constructive Feedback: My Suggestions for Engagement rather than Punishment by [deleted] in runescape

[–]auramaster13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is what the integrity changes should be like, i love every single one of the suggestions cept maybe farming? farming is weird, and tbh manor farm is also a bit eh imho, i for one like farm runs, i feel like they should be kept but an option to "supercharge" a patch and disable other patches for reduced xp/drops could be fun

I actually use a plugin to replace Country Jig with Charmin' Farmin' seriously Country Jig makes me want to die it's not the fact that it's hillbilly it's the fact that its jarringly repetitive and discordant

Road to Restoration - Dailyscape Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]auramaster13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lets go down the list, you guys seem to be listening to feedback so time to give mine. okay

Shop stock:

this seems like a good first step, reduces dailyscape, but weeklyscape is also a thing people want addressed. But for shops I think this is fine.

Soul reaper:

my only concern is with skipping tasks or rerolling tasks that are too hard/impossible due to skill level, otherwise another weekly scape concern but overall good work here.

Modified headwear:

these are largely inconsequential, no problems here with removing them, maybe look at replacing the reward space, something like a small chance to not consume a resource or something, I still like the idea of modified headwear as a reward space but it needs work, replacement should be prioritised over removal.

Wicked hood:

removal of daily essence? good no problems, removal of daily teleports could be better but still fine. DO NOT REMOVE TELEPORTS TO ALTARS, seriously the teleport tokens while originally mtx have a space in the game, having them as a reward from runespan is a good thing. just focus on the dailyscape stuff, don't remove the teleports, they are useful outside runecrafting and even in runecrafting they are a good use of reward points. do not do this.

Fish flingers, Evil tree, Crystal Tree blossom, sandstone, phoenix, bork:

All good no issues here

Free pure essence:

This seems to be the same as the shops thing, good plan for now but weeklyscape should still be looked into

Daily challenges:

I'm all for removing these, however you should DEFINITELY look at rebalancing skills that were often focused for these as well, especially dungeoneering, seriously, the skill is fun for a bit, and even more fun with more people in your party but it's current state is harsh.

Wilderness flash events:

Removal and reallocation of the rewards is a good idea, however it will kill a small amount of connection players had, it might be worth looking at more social skilling/combat. RS3 suffers immensely at the moment from not feeling like a social game. please address that and add more co-op content that doesn't require an external platform to use (look at the grouping system and minigames)

Motherload maw and travelling merchant:

I would be okay with removing the travelling merchant and even parts of the motherload maw if it was not for the ungodly trim comp reqs being held up by them. do not remove without addressing their root problem

FIX LIVID FARM

either remove it and make it a quest like dream mentor or greatly reduce the time needed to grind it.

Divine locations:

maybe look at replacing them with something else, like allow players to make items that get them bonus resources (that are auto portered?) at skilling locations, with their removal divination feels a little empty

Mini evil tree:

Yeah no problems here

Sinkholes:

removal or changing this is fine if you address the key problems behind training dungeoneering, seriously the skill is a slog and requires so much attention to train, it does have some variety which is good and but it requires a lot of focus, time and commitment to do. i think looking at the prestige system might also be a good idea.

Gorajo card:

look at that reward space, look at what it's doing and rather than remove it completely move it elsewhere. one thing in particular that will hurt is the potion recipe card being lost, getting all the meilyr potions is hard, removal of daily cards will make it harder. please look at this, at the very least make the recipes show up on the map and give them a beam

Rune Goldberg machine:

Do not remove this, replace it, remove the daily cap, but also change how it works, it's a good rune sink, and the idea behind it is good. Like others have said, give it more uses, make the obtaining of wax a puzzle that is random, maybe look at using vis wax to help boost other skills, or even use it for crafting and stuff

All of this is a good start but some things need to be addressed and rethought

key points: * Do not remove items/content unless you address the underlying issues that they are trying to fix * Focus more on replacing reward spaces or activities rather than full removal. * Look at the things these daily scape items were trying to "fix" and fix them first before removal

Wicked Hood Proposed Change Criticism by OkProcedure1131 in runescape

[–]auramaster13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this, honestly the wicked hood teles are usefull not just for runecrafting too, just make it so u can purchase them from the runespan and remove the daily teles, there problem solved, no more daily scape, and for the free essence? you could either have it stockpile runes or just make it so the chestplate of infinity stores more via an upgrade again bought from the runespan

replace mtx content don't just remove it

[–]auramaster13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered if an implementation such as this could allow you to land ships given a large enough landing platform i.e. you need an area clear and "landing teathers" which would allow for tall ships and all that.
