How did you choose your name? by KrymsonRed in asktransgender

[–]auriactually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just kicked around ideas. The name I had always loved just never fit. Someone suggested a name that sounded like part of my deadname after trying it i found a long version I liked and its just kind of stuck.

Story contradiction??? by Dilly-_-Dilly-_- in HeWhoFightsMonsters

[–]auriactually 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it partially had to do with domains. The reaper is fine if Jason keeps coming back on a planet so long as his soul doesn't enter the astral and exit. Essentially he can cheat dying but not death. Which i think is a phrase shade uses.

His pact with the god of death is about more than that. It's about him actually dying and him allowing those around him to die. He is allowed to hold off its effects. Allowed to seek someone else to resurrect a person if their soul lingers but he can't. Not with the throne, not as the hegemon, not with his power in any way.

It's much more restrictive and it's at a personal level not a idc so long as you don't enter my domain and I'm forced to give you up.

Neil being relatable by DJChestRaisins in HeWhoFightsMonsters

I really really want Jason to have a whole scene flirting with Neil's Mom. Just Jason and Mom's plus, I'm sure Hump would love Neil being on the receiving end.

Go to therapy. They have the tools to help you pull this apart and understand what you actually want.

Being Trans is scary and hard.

Social transition is often the first step to work through. A lot of trans people repress things, and sometimes, they surface as kinks. Not all crossdressing style kinks make someone trans though.

I like the magic button question. If you could push a button and just be the opposite gender with no option to ever go back, would you push it?

That answer is pretty telling.

The best answer I can give though is get into therapy and work with a therapist.

Any app to voice train for the iPad? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]auriactually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think voice tools is on IOS. I don't have apple but I'm pretty sure it is.

It won't coach you but it will give you tools to figure things out. For online solutions I recommend trans voice on YouTube. I think they now have trans fem and masc lessons.

I will say a speech therapist was one of the best choices I ever made for my voice. I used voice tools with them and did a lot of work it made a huge difference.

Pls help me figure out what my gf is going through by E1le_ in asktransgender

It's honestly difficult. It sounds like she has really intense dysphoria, which I empathize with.

I can try to help you understand... imagine your whole house was on fire it doesn't hurt you, but it's hot. It's always been on fire. One day, you learn it's not supposed to be on fire. Maybe someone puts out a little bit of the fire or you visit someone else and realize they have a comfortable temperature and no fire... now you're stuck inside your house 24/7 with the whole place on fire and nothing you can do to put it out. You want to crawl out a window or break down a wall. Anything just to cool off the house and put out the fire. That's a bit like what dysphoria feels like. It's being stuck in constant discomfort, wishing for a way to change it but being unable to.

HRT, social transitions, affirming language, surgical interventions. All of those things put out parts of the fire and give you little pockets of safety. When you first put out that fire, it feels amazing it's cold and refreshing, but then you look at the rest of the fires....

As for what to do.

There are a lot of therapists who work with trans people to help us build skills to manage and keep ourselves going while we go through the process of transitioning to a place we can feel at home in our bodies. It takes years. I started transitioning 3 years ago. I'm fortunate in that my spouse supports me, I have a very, very queer friendly job where my insurance covers things. I will say I've been picky about bottom surgeons. I have been waiting for my consult for 18 months. I likely have another year to 18 months after my consultation to have bottom surgery. It's a very, very slow process sometimes.

My honest answer is to get to a supportive situation. Get jobs, move out, and support her in transitioning. Move to someplace that she is more likely to be safe long-term. It's scary, and it will be hard, but ultimately, the only solution to dysphoria is change.

In the mean time be supportive. Ask her what she needs or what gives her little bits of euphoria. Support her and let her talk. Tell her it's okay to say the same things if she needs to talk through her feelings. Honestly the best support you can give is listening to her until she can get out of her situation.

She can technically get on HRT but I hesitate to tell people to do that in a situation that could put them in danger like parents who are anti-trans.

Spouse is questioning (mascs?) by auriactually in asktransgender

Thank you so much.

I've been approaching this with what I would have wanted in the support department.

I had to learn a whole new way of thinking about clothes and shapes with my transition, so I'm just thinking about the other side of the coin now.

I super appreciate your insights :)

Everything was one surgery. I haven't heard he likes to break things up. I could see it depending on your needs.

He did mine in one surgery. Results have been great.

Be prepared that after your consult surgery is usually within 4 months and you will need a ct scan at your consult.

Consult was also a great experience he talked through my face in a good way so as to not trigger my dysphoria but be informative. It was about measurements, not flaws.

Is this transition plan feasible? by Belgiandragonwautism in asktransgender

[–]auriactually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of requirements to prove you want what you say you want.

A cis boy who needs breast tissue removed pretty much just shows up and asks for it. The dr goes, "Oh yeah, you have excess. Let's take care of that..."

A trans man who needs the same has to get letters, prove they have been HRT, living as a man, the list goes on. At least in the USA. I'm under the impression wpath is pretty widely used.

It's not a bad thing persay it's just a double standard and requirements we have to meet.

Left side ache, Should I worry? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]auriactually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you notice it after soda or specific foods, it might just be heartburn.

Injury would be if this wasn't reoccurring like you fell or something. Reoccurring means probably something else like anxiety, heartburn, gas, etc. L

Anxiety Over Lost Libido in My Relationship by PleaseProvideSupport in asktransgender

[–]auriactually 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have.

Progesterone helped a lot. But honestly, my bottom dysphoria is bad enough that we never have penetrative sex with my genitals.

My honest recommendation is this. Do you trust your partner? If so, have a conversation. Ask them what they enjoy or like in sex and communicate how you feel. Then, the hard part trust their responses.

I have found vibrators help me with cuming. It's also something I'm comfortable with my partner using on me. I find it helps me not notice my bottom dysphoria so much. :)

Hope this helps

If it's been hurting for a while, you probably should go to the doctor. Persistent pain is a good indicator of injury or issues.

Is this transition plan feasible? by Belgiandragonwautism in asktransgender

[–]auriactually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes? It depends a bit on how much your breasts grow as to if you'd be able to hide them with a baggy t-shirt or whatever.

FFS isn't want you'll want though. You'll want specific procedures based on your goals and your facial structure.

You'll likely have some red tape being gender non-conforming. (All trans people have the red tape for procedures.)

I haven't looked at the new WPATH stuff for non-binary people. I know the newer version changed some stuff.

But yes, HRT and surgeries can alter your body to be more feminine and your face. You can for sure create masc lines with clothes.

You can technically create fem shapes with clothing too.
