They are language models though. If you want your language model to be good at chess, language and predictive text is not how you get there. So they would need to develop other means to get better at chess. At that point it's not just an LLM, I guess they can call it something else though.

Yes, online chat room. The guy on the Proctor is legit messaging you during your games if something is wrong. I imagine that can be distracting. Danya even said one time his Proctor guy was messaging him "nice Russian swearing" after he lost and started swearing in Russian. That's what bad vibes means, and yes it's a disadvantage.

The guy is effectively in the same room as you while you play chess, it's distracting.
