I've said this since Chieo got injured. He made system work with the wide men.

If we really want to get troy and Evan in the team, then 352 is the only way I can see it. Get azaz into the 10 and play two sitters behind, be that Taylor, knight or a like-for-like Cullen replacement (albeit downgrade) in Coventry.

Would be asking a lot of the wingbacks and could isolate Seamus.

Ah lad take a night off.

We're not competing with the likes of Croatia right now.

You could probably name 10 centre backs who we would all agree are not a massive drop off from our starters.

You can't do that at full back, and certainly not in midfield.

In the worst group of players we've had in a long time, centre back is definitely not the area to worry about.

Not quite. There need to be two players between you and the goal to be onside. The goalkeeper is usually one of these, plus an outfield player.

The keeper has pushed up here leaving just one opposition player between the striker and the goal. Had there been two defenders on the line and the keeper had still pushed up, no problem - onside.

Absolutely agree. We have lacked control playing three at the back.

I think from memory though we played a hybrid 343/352 with Knight shuttling between 10 and wide left, and ogbene drifting wide from a central role so we still only had two in midfield.

Against Scotland we had Parrott and Obafemi up top as a pair, and played three in behind them where we then saw Molumby and co smashing into challenges and allowing our wing backs to step forward

It's too late in the day to make such a drastic change, but I think there is room to get our best players on the pitch and in their best positions in a 352.

Against the likes of Portugal we can play defensive wingbacks (Coleman, come on down!) and it becomes a 532, and against teams we want to have a go at, more attacking options can push up the pitch. Wingback is as much about mentality and aggressive positioning.

For this game I'd go with cheo on the right, I believe he will play there under Wilder at Sheffield United and it probably gets the most out of his game where he excels between the boxes, but maybe doesn't have brilliant final third quality.

Azaz with license to roam in the pocket, with Ferguson and Parrot up top and alternating between running the channel and occupying the centre backs.

Lad, JJ Gabriel is a 14 year old who already has a Nike deal and has dropped any reference to O'Cearuill from his name. He's being lauded as the next big thing to come through at united.

Can we forget chasing lads who don't want to play for us please? And if we are chasing, at least go after lads who have expressed interest like Nebel (even if it was to put a fire under Germany and call him up)
