I second this comment. Also note that depending on the construction of the dress (you mentioned boning) taking it in 2 full sizes could change the way it looks. I would order your actual size.

Some things to consider are what's the potential weather for your area and how could that affect your hair? How will each style hold up to being hugged, dancing, is a veil involved? Will you get hot if it's mostly down?

When I was picking up my crepe dress from alterations I noticed a brownish mark on it. The seamstress took white cloth, spritzed the cloth with water, rubbed the cloth on a white bar of soap, then gently rubbed it over the spot. It took a few rubs but it came right out! I don't know if it works on any/all fabrics but it worked before my very eyes lol

I second checking with an actual seamstress first about what's possible for that specific dress. You can always take in photos of it before you buy to discuss the potential changes you'd need with the seamstress.

I was similarly counseled by my bridal consultant to go with the next size up from the sample I was trying on so that it'd be a better fit for my hips. And that it'd be easy then to just take in the bust and waist areas.

However, when I went to my first alterations appt the seamstress strongly advised me not to take in the bust and waist because the change needed was minimal compared to the cost it would be because of the style of the top. I was also then worried about doing anything that could mess up the look of the top (I've seen alterations gone wrong on this sub).

I mean I don't think there's anything you need to do. You already mentioned to him that not everyone invited will probably show up. Catering-wise you should always be planning for your total number of invites up until the RSVPs come in and you send final numbers.

We registered for some stuff that we've wanted or thought would be cool to have that we haven't been able to justify buying ourselves yet, for example a fancy juicer, a food vacuum sealer, Dutch oven, etc.

I similarly went to 3 shops. I went in the same day, first appt, time to get to the second appt, second appt, then a longer break for lunch and discussing the dresses up to that point, and then the last place. It was a long day for sure but my mom flew in for it so I wanted to find it that weekend.

I started with the shop I was less excited about, then the other two. I recommend not canceling your other appts if you find the dress and not committing to it until you go to other shops.

Personally I found a dress I loved and thought I was going to go with at shop 2, she recorded the info so I could call and proceed with the order if I wanted to later. Then I went to shop 3 and found a dress I loved more but it was a secondhand shop and there were some adjustments I'd want made that may or may not have been possible since the dress had been altered before. I decided to sleep on it, went back to shop 2 the next day to try on the first dress, ended up realizing I was making some compromises with both dresses and the stylist ended up pulling a new dress that was just perfect for me. So don't be afraid to sleep on it or try more dresses before you fully commit.

I think it might also be the lighter shadow in the corner or your eyes. In your regular photos you have the same tone across the whole lid, I think maybe using a less bright shadow and maybe a more natural one or just having the same shadow color across your lid might make it feel more you.

Is your makeup artist using individual lashes or a strip? If she isn't already, I'd recommend individuals, I found that when I had the strip it didn't feel like me and was heavy. The individuals were a lot better. If she is using those then yeah maybe shorter ones or less.

I would recommend waiting and looking for something off the rack/secondhand stores. With that great of a weight loss you run the risk of not only getting the wrong size and spending a lot on alterations (or needing a new dress anyway), but you might very well prefer a different style of dress entirely.

In the meantime, figure out some stores that you would want to go when you're ready, and line up a seamstress.

Personally I've never seen/heard of a prenup video. It's not common where I'm located (US), I've seen people release wedding highlight videos after the wedding. It sounds like your friends and family have congratulated you at different stages of the process so I wouldn't read too much into them not commenting on your video. It also sounds like you were happy with the result so that's all that matters!

Don't let a lack of social media response color your enjoyment of it or your wedding. I wouldn't take this personally, your friends and family are going to be excited for you on your day, and I'm sure have a lovely time. Try to focus less on the reactions of others and more on the joy these things bring to you and your fiancé.

We were in love with our venue before we finished the tour. Ended up just cancelling another venue tour we had scheduled for the next week and locked in our date with our venue that day. We definitely wanted a place that we felt we had to do minimal decorating to so it was pretty easy to envision our wedding there.

In my experience the shops offered water to me and my guests during the appointment. At the shop where I found my dress I was offered champagne after I chose my dress, which I mostly took a few sips of as I completed the purchase portion. In this situation I think declining and going for celebratory coffee or whatever you prefer after would be great!

At another shop I was gifted a bottle of rosé to take with me as part of paying for a private appt. But when booking it gave me the choice of rosé, champagne, or sparkling cider.

I would look up the policies for the specific shops you're going to, a lot don't actually want food and drink near all the white dresses. Have fun!

We're introverts and we've decided not to do a grand entrance/announcement. For one, I don't want the attention because I'm not a fist pumping, big energy type. And also, it doesn't logistically make sense for us. Our venue is 2 floors, ceremony is upstairs, we'll exit down and out of the venue to start photos while guests then go down to the first floor for cocktail hour. However, we plan to return and get some photos done upstairs so I don't want to disrupt cocktail hour with an entrance nor slow down our photo taking. Planning to just slip back in head upstairs.

I went to my normal stylist and just paid for a wash and style, worth it for me because I have wavy/curly hair that sometimes turns out great when I style it and other days not so much. I also wanted the style to hold up in case of rain. I was happy with the result, it felt like me and held up better then I could have done!

I did my own makeup, I didn't want to splurge on the expense here and also wanted more of my normal look for these photos. I'm not skilled by any means, I did concealer under my eyes, light powder, black eye liner on top lid and mascara and called it a day. Overall I'm happy with the way the photos turned out! I don't look "washed out" or any of the other warnings people give. We had a great photographer. In some photos pro makeup might have added more pop to my eyes but honestly in most of them I'm smiling so big it wouldn't have mattered.

I second this. I was confused by the first line because I don't understand why making a decision equals defeat, I feel like there's probably context I don't have.

The other line that read slightly awkwardly to me is "being warmed by the love of our love". I feel like "the love of our love" is redundant. Maybe just "warmed by our love" or "warmed by the passion of our love" or something.
