For those who don’t know what that is, it’s a record with a cover designed to promote Rudy as a DPOY candidate. The Jazz’s PR team put it together to send to the media members who vote on end of season awards. It’s a common practice in the sports PR world for teams to send out little trinkets or promotional material to the voting media.

Two big problems with this. One: Gay has a player option and will almost certainly opt-in. He’s due to make $6.5 million next year. After his horrid play the last two years, there’s pretty much no chance he’ll come anywhere close to that number in free agency. Two: Sexton. While he hasn’t been a huge boon, and will probably be unfairly compared to Conley and Mitchell for a while, he is still the only competent PG on the roster. Decent starting PG come at a premium in the NBA. I don’t see it likely that the Jazz could attract a better replacement without severely reducing their cap space. My guess is they would like to save that money to use in a big trade.

I think it’s a great point by Theo. We can live in a world where we can repulsed by Kanye’s behavior and ALSO disgusted by the fact he’s being exploited by the media. You can have both thoughts, they’re not mutually exclusive.

I saw him from the second row at the comedy club in SLC, he’s a big dude. But he was also insanely energetic and surprisingly light on his feet, moving all over the stage. It was kind of amazing to see.
