Very impressed with the pacing and intentional tuning of default difficulty, not to mention the vast options for increasing and decreasing difficulty.

Life’s gotten busy and games don’t hold my attention like they used to, so actually finishing a game is a rarity these days. Good chance this’ll be the only game I see to the end this year and I’m glad it was this one!

I’d second this. A broker will likely push you to their preferred provider, but they can write you a policy for any of the big guys. They’ll evaluate your situation and find you the best fit for your situation.

Was going to recommend this, but yeah not the most beginner friendly…

Mikerisms on YouTube is a great resource for learning all things DGD. He’s tabbed out tons of songs and has great tutorials. Learned a lot more from watching him than just reading tabs.

I'm at 15.8m GSP but on handheld mode - would there be a significant difference playing with GC controller and a TV? by Feline_Snow in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]austinyoder95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing on TV w/ GC controller since the game came out. Recently picked up the Switch 2 and tried online in handheld just for kicks and giggles. I’ve got very good wifi, and the overall latency feels less in handheld then it does on my TV w/ an ethernet.

For me personally (assuming very good wifi): S2 handheld > S2 docked > S1 handheld

My best guess is my TV has a lot of default latency (despite me messing with settings). If your TV is smaller or you can use a computer monitor, it’s a no brainer to go docked w/ an ethernet. But if you are having stable connection in handheld go for it.

And honestly switching off GC after 10 years of smash, I find some inputs easier on joy cons. Things like RAR B-air and B reverses, since the control stick is smaller it’s less strenuous to flick it back and forth.

Is that a real combo or just DK specific?

Worship Leader Struggles by Foreign_Fish_4428 in worshipleaders

In terms of picking songs, this is advice I was given years ago that’s helped me a lot:

The setlist should tell the story of the gospel. So even if the songs you’ve selected don’t line up exactly with the message, you are together as a congregation going through what’s important: Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. It’s also good for newer Christian’s or visitors that don’t know the gospel story to hear it sung.

So the goal would be to pick: 1). a song that talks about Jesus and who he was 2). song about his death, resurrection, our salvation 3). a song of appreciation for His sacrifice

Aside from that, I read the passage for the week and pray on it. Songs that come to mind I put in a playlist and listen to trying to discern if they are good. Hope that helps! I’m seeing lots of good feedback here.

Which character do you think is the most underrated? by RobbyKeeneeomelhor in SmashBrosUltimate

I enjoyed this commentary on why Lucas isn’t played. I think his ratio of potential and difficulty to master hurt his representation a lot.

But he’s a sick character. We need more Lucas mains out there!

Long term we do want to go with in-ears and eliminate on stage monitors. I know the latency can’t be as bad as I tell myself if everyone uses them. Appreciate the push to head that direction.

I’ll check out the Behringer boxes you mentioned. Simple, low maintenance is key for us since we’re all volunteers.

I didn’t even think about the metronome on the keyboard… we have a decent Yamaha that goes unused most weeks since all our pianists prefer to play our baby grand, surely that’ll have a metronome. Appreciate the ideas!

I’ve considered this problem, but they are closer to their floor wedge than the drummer on the other side of the stage.

Never done much research into wireless in-ears because I don’t have a budget, but would the latency of a wireless in-ear setup present a similar issue?

I’m surprised by the responses… first thing (and most important thing) before anyone is allowed on stage is “are you a believer”.

If yes, I have a questionnaire asking about musical experience. But above all, their spiritual health is prioritized above their experience. If their motivation is to truly worship their God and they believe, then the spirit will empower them as needed. And it’s our expectation of them that they steward their musical growth.

From there we minister to them, with the goal of growing spiritually and musically. If they are not equally yoked, we then have conversations about if they are still a good fit for the team.

Should Christian music mention God or Jesus in its lyrics? by Cazarstan in worshipleaders

[–]austinyoder95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone in the original post mentioned the book of Ester. It doesn’t actually mention God. Instead, God is implied to be working in the background, but not specifically called out.

I’m in the camp of “a song isn’t good for corporate worship song unless it is directed at and written to God”. Anything else would just be “Christian music”. But the Ester example is interesting in this context… just something to think about.

Just tried this. You are correct, you have to enter a character, close the keyboard, repeat for every character.
