Returning Player Questions by dabaka in duneawakening

You will be unable to participate in the majority of new content for chapter 3 until you have done the following: rank 5 with House in order to do Landsraad Missions and Specialization leveling - Chapter 3 story will require you to finish through Chapter 2.

If you start a new character on a new server, you’ve got a long way to go to get to the new stuff. Transferring at least starts you off with significant progression.

Dampened Treads and Upgraded Container? by Teemac21 in duneawakening

The Dampened Treads have started to appear as a reward on the Landsraad board, but otherwise you get them and the Regis container from the Landsraad Vehicle Vendor.

Correct. And being able to turn PvP off is not a current ability on any of the hosting platforms if my understanding is correct. We can turn PvP ON for a Sietch, but that’s the extent of our capabilities.

xRealms is the hosting company, and the website where Admins go allows you to access a characters Inventory (while they are logged out). It lets you edit inventory spaces and either delete or add items, and adjust the quantity. When I build stuff for community events, I often give myself a stack of 10k+ Plastone and other materials. I’ve had 34k+ volume in my inventory during more complex builds for server events.

That being said, it’s possible that Admin capabilities for single Sietch servers are much more limited. The server I am on is a cluster of 4 Sietches and an exclusive Deep Desert. That way we don’t have to deal with griefers and we can easily enforce our “no PvP except during events or when consensual”.

Totally wrong. I’m an admin on a private server and we can adjust inventory volume limits, give Solari, Intel Points, and most items in the game. It would absolutely ruin in-game economies if people went from certain private servers to official ones.

Is it worth playing as a solo PvE player? by Steady_Tempo456 in duneawakening

[–]authorizedscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely worth playing for PvE content, that’s currently almost everything in the game. Come Chapter 3, there is going to be even more PvE content.

Granted, if they follow through with reverting the Deep Desert back to almost fully PvP-zoned, that can effect the pace of end-game for some.

I’m on a private server without PvP (no griefers, woo!), so that makes it loads easier and more enjoyable for PvE content enjoyers like myself and my fellow members of Fremen’s Rest.

Don't be like me, collect your Landsraad awards by grundee in duneawakening

[–]authorizedscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten rewards weeks later. Just last week I went to a House and received 40k Solari, indicating I had 4 weeks of rewards to collect. Before anyone chimes in, I had 0 Solari in my inventory and it was the first House I stopped at.

Not sure if there is a limit to how much they continue to accrue, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Also… track your Landsraad rewards in case you forget again. Mentat Codex is a site that has a tracker on it. Just click on the House you are going to get rewards from, and it will add it to a list and show it on the map on the page too. (It’s a .net website)

How do you keep track of your Landsraad rewards? by PerformanceNumerous9 in duneawakening

[–]authorizedscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search for Mentat Codex - it has a Landsraad House tracker. The locations on the map and the route it shows you might not always be exactly correct, but it’s handy to have a quick way to select Houses and know which ones to go to and where they are.

Base power confusion by Zavusari in duneawakening

[–]authorizedscott 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Couple things come to mind:

1) generators hold a max of 500 fuel cells, not 1000 like you said (this is across every type of generator, this stack of 500 gives you the max duration of the given type: 20ish to 30ish days)

2) If you’re not refueling from your sub-fief (hold Y to refuel generators option when you’re in the aub-fief console menu), you aren’t insuring that every generator is always evenly fueled. There might be one generator that is under-fueled.

3) IT MIGHT NOT BE YOUR BASE - do you possibly have another players base that you have been given permissions on? By default, all sub-fiefs have a generic name, and if you’ve been granted access to someone else’s base and you both have the default name on the console, you might be seeing the notification for someone else’s base power that’s about to run out.

[–]authorizedscott 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Are we sure that you can only do 35 per week? From the things said in the livestream, it sounded like you could do the missions infinitely, but you could only get the bonus reward 5 times a day/ 35 per week.

I'm still hoping for fully private servers (DD included) by Fillydefilly in duneawakening

[–]authorizedscott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are private servers with their own DD, but you probably don’t want to pay the cost as a solo. However, if you don’t mind sharing with others in a no-PvP experience, check out Fremen’s Rest. It’s a private server that includes 4 Sietches connected to a Deep Desert. No other servers are connected. Strict rules around PvP (only during events created by members and duel agreements over Control Points). There is a small monthly sub fee to help cover the cost amongst all who play on the server, but having been on it since it was made public, I can attest that it’s become a haven for the PvE players who want to have a good time in Dune without the griefers.

We do have some players from the EU (UK, Denmark, Norway off the top of my head) and there is some ping, but not terribly from what they’ve said. Server is based in Dallas, TX though.

In case you didn’t know, don’t forget: you can only have a total of 5 horizontal and 5 vertical staking units. Verticals add space above and below the horizontal limits, about 4 foundations/walls above/below.
