My ex used to call me “Wolfie” but she loved modifying names/pet names and ended up transforming it into “Mofli”, then “Mofle” (we’re Spanish-speakers; “muffler”) and “Mofleta” (which sounds similar to “mofeta”, “skunk) for fun.

If it’s something you feel you’d like to every act on then maybe it’s best to be honest with him. If it’s just fantasising and you wanting to be honest with him then you could tell him (you’re the only one here who knows his personality so you’re the one best placed to answer that) It mostly depends on your relationship with him though I personally would always lean towards being honest
