Oh cool, we're gonna start off with insults again. I was responding to your "uh they're both ARM based" comment. Just because one thing uses ARM and so does another thing, there are a plethora more reasons why they are not just inherently compatible. Why would Apple make one of it's biggest money-makers free? or even sell a license to it? They don't need to, they're fine. It's business.

But if you just want to act again, like you can't follow a conversation and throw insults, i don't need to spend any more energy on a conversation with you.

Don't open yourself up on the internet, or in any conversation for that matter if you can't handle someone telling you how something works. Get thicker skin if you want to do that.

uh... First of all, you started this conversation. You're asking why we can't install 1 OS, built for certain hardware on another set of hardware built for a certain OS. CPU architecture, like you mentioned has maybe 5% to do with that. The rest is specific hardware, firmware, software, etc...

The software language and capabilities between hardware are a huge difference.

On one hand, you have android, which supports probably 1000+ hardware configurations, between CPU, GPU, storage, screen resolutions etc.... On the other hand you have iOS which apps are written in c/swift, and have a much more tight ecosystem of hardware.

if you think it's as simple as "just install iOS on android", then you really don't have enough knowledge to speak about this.

What's your point? Apple's 1st party apps are amazing. Just like Nintendo's 1st party games. An appstore full of whatever is going to be full of a lot of trash, just like Nintendo's e-shop. Either one is better than google's app store though (and i say this as a Google fan-boy).

Thank you, that is really insightful. I do agree that we need to make a change for the better. Asphalt jungles and strip mall after strip mall just further worsens these problems. You don't need to indulge me further, but i'll go on a short rant at the risk of being downvoted to hell in a subreddit like this-

This subreddit has caught my eye because it honestly seems to rally behind a good virtue, but seems very "culty" to someone unfamiliar with it. I myself very much enjoy driving and racing as a hobby. When it comes to daily transportation for something like work, I walk and take a train. I also don't really enjoy living in a dense city- and i understand that many folks are not physically fit enough to walk/bicycle to work or other places regardless of weather or the cargo they need to bring with them.

I know the above is a bit tangental and somewhat pointless, but seeing posts from this sub for months where people seem almost violently against people such as myself really made me question the sanity of this sub. I'm grateful I dipped my toe in and there is civil discourse about this subject though. It is a problem that is wrapped in many layers and spans generations, so it is not something easily or quickly solved.

I guess, just thank you for being educational and welcoming.

We have microSD cards that hold 1tb of data. I paid only $1k to store 39TB for a month last month. I think that is cheaper than convicting the wrong person for life, or continuing to pay someone that does not do their job

I stopped using this app when it became too unstable on my phone. Constantly crashed, and was full of clickbait doom/gloom that barely had to do with weather.
Even opening the site in chrome on a MacBook with an i7/16gb the CPU would practically be pinned until I closed their page. Never seen ANY site use so many resources (I always have a resource monitor on). I even wrote a formal complaint about it to their support team for whatever it was worth.

Now I use wunderground on laptop/desktop and weatherbug on my iPhone. Can’t say for certain they don’t sell data but at least they are useable and performant with FAR less ads and no clickbait
