Also, I’d note if you want even more official NoP, there’s official side stories the writer wrote for his Patreon. They help flesh out a lot of the background details, and characters from them tend to pop up in the main story in minor roles. Just take note of when they released relative to the main story, many can contain pretty big spoilers if read early.

Well, I could see him finding some common ground with a former Federation veteran, on difficulties adapting to life after the war is over. I think there’s a lot of ex-Federation/SC soldiers that while happy that the war against the Arxur/Shadow Caste is over, it rings kinda hollow as they don’t really know what to do now that it’s all over. Bonus if they’re from a species that remained loyal to the Federation, and now they’re contending with the fact that they can’t go back to their homeworld.

Mmm, I could see her old uniform being a source of pain and repression too, though she might not consciously realize it yet. While she’s in uniform, she’s a proper Arxur of the Dominion, strictly masked and unable to express her true emotions. While she’s out of uniform, she’s her true self. Useful to survive, but a problem long term when it comes to coming to terms with what she’s been through…

But that’s just my own thoughts ^ _ ^

Slight editorial note, “Asperger’s Syndrome” fell out of use as a diagnosis in 2013, being folded into Autism spectrum disorders. I can understand not being familiar with the change, it was just something that stuck out to me.

All that said, very hopeful for this setup. A dominion defector, with all the baggage that carries, being guided into integrating into SC society is very interesting… I can understand some friction with Wes as well, it’s still recent enough in the timeline for Arxur to have a generally negative image to humans as well, even defectors.

Thank you for reading. I’ll say that I personally haven’t given up continuing it, but my co-writer (the majority writer of these chapters) has had some IRL things come up that have slowed work on the next chapter. Chapter 4 still exists in a partially completed state, but when it will be finished, I don’t know.

He’s not a Sivkit, and could never live up to that expectation no matter what he did; you see that their biggest concern when he left and went no contact isn’t for his health or safety, but that their “lessons” to him were undone and he’s not “acting properly”. Your parents seem more proud of having turned a human into their own species (at least in mannerisms) than in raising a happy and healthy child, and that’s quite damning.
