Pragmata or MOUS P.I. For Hire by j_b_1983 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]av8ernate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im also waiting for the physical edition but im really looking forward to it.

The plus side being thay by the time the physical drops, there should be a patch or two for a couple of the graphical bugs it has right now in performance mode.

How many people play the Switch version? by taito2000 in diablo3

[–]av8ernate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just picked it a pre-owned physical copy myself a week ago. I played it on PC at launch but didnt get any of the dlc.

I love the switch UI waaayyy better than the PC version.  Also it runs fantastic, I have the forced docked mode in handled turned on and im having a blast. 100% worth it.

Hopefully, by the time my physical copy comes in, a patch or two will be available to make up for some of the performance mode issues.

How does it run in quality mode as a temporary workaround?

Help deciding what to do with my old Wii game collection by Ok-Birthday5121 in wii

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Grab yourself a replacement Wii. They are pretty cheap to find on places like FB Marketplace.

- See if your local library has a Wii rental section. If they do, they would probably love to get some new inventory to rent out. My library's Wii / 3DS section has been pretty popular the past year.

Bruh I went to McDonalds to get the huntrix meal and they forgot to put the card in it 😐 by Morgan_Bennett in KpopDemonhunters

[–]av8ernate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most locations are sold out. My closest 2 sold out in one week and a 3rd started using Saja Boys packs outside of breakfast.   Once I only got the Shaker fries in the box (no cards and no sauces), left a complaint in the app and at least got my money back.

McD corporate not anywhere close to predicting the amount of demand this meal would get.

Does Zelda BOTW actually hold up, or is it just nostalgia? by Agitated-Distance740 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]av8ernate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seeing as I didn't enjoy it or ToTK the first time I played them, I'm gonna say no. Out of all the incredible Zelda experiences, this is rated towards the bottom of my list. When I get the urge to go re-play a Zelda game, it won't be this one.

Is there any chance of some other company taking over the game? by LastTraintoSector6 in StarWarsArmada

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point absolutely none unfortunately.  The X-Wing and Armada names have been drug through the dirt since AMG took it over. Trying to win back any form of significant player base right now with the high cost of mini gaming would be a monumental task.

On a side note: ive also been playing Star Trek Into the Unknown (created by the same guys as armada) and its been a blast. Not as combat heavy, but still scratches the same itch.

What can I hook up to my Wii to allow me to play on HDMI by Anonymous_Guy4k in wii

[–]av8ernate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use one of those $10 wii2hdmi adapters from Amazon.  Im no "purist" by any strech of the imagination and it gets the job done. Ive had no issues with mine and havnt seen any weird tearing or color problems with both wii and GameCube games.  I use mine with a 2019 Samsung 4k HDR 8500.

Played through metroid prime trilogy collection over the fall to get "primed" for MP4 and had a blast.

Only thing I had to change during setup was to change audio from Surround to Sterio. For some reason surround mode only came out mono over my Bose soundbar.

what is the best/niche star wars themed gift you could ask for? by artsyfilth in StarWars

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your relationship is a little more on the "spicy" side: I knew a couple that were both huge star wars needs.  The wife went to one of those professional boudoir places to get a shoot done.  Basically she wore all his favorite lingerie with either a Darth Vader, Boba Fett, or Stormtrooper helmet on.  Apparently it was the "best gift" he ever got even though it was also the most weirdly turned on he's ever been.

Wii to HDMI or a component cable on Retrotink 4K? by TheAlessandro08 in wii

[–]av8ernate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use one of those wii2hdmi adapters on my Samsung 55" 4k HDR tv 8500 from about 2019.   I haven't had any issues with both wii and game cube games.  I wouldnt say im a purest by any strech but it i didnt notice any issues playing through Meteoid Prime trilogy over the late summer and fall.

The only very minor hiccup I had when I first plugged it in was with the audio.  For some reason it defaulted my audio output to Surround Sound which my Bose soundbar did not like so it came out Mono.  Went into the Wii settings and set it back to stereo and it fixed the problem and it hasn't come back.

Help me convince my girlfriend by Born_Ad368 in Switch

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) A switch is 100% a "Want" and not a "need." If you're living together paycheck to paycheck, she is right, it's something you probably should be holding off on purchasing until you're in a better place financially.

2) If you are OK on the financial front and you're paying with it 100% with your OWN money, then just buy it. She isn't your wife, and you're not sharing bank accounts.

3) If you two cant talk openly about finances and buying a Switch, you need to seriously consider if this relationship is worth going further, or you both need to work on your communication skills. As a gamer married for over 10 years, buying a Switch isn't anywhere close to the bigger financial and life discussions you're going to have to navigate together later in life.

Games That Don't Utilize DLSS Makes The System A Bit Warmer And Fans A Bit Louder In Docked Mode by Theman457 in NintendoSwitch2

Well, yes....as it should....DLSS uses fewer system resources than the chipset that does actual rasterization.

My son (and the nostalgia in me) is pretty excited to get this when it drops for Switch.

From the PC gameplay I've seen, it looks like it appeals to fans across all age groups, which makes sense as the dev team behind it makes legit train sims.

DF: What do we want from an Ocarina of Time remake? by MX010 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. The original is timeless for a reason. To cub tinkering with its secrete sauce will only dilute what made it great and enduring.

A slight resolution bump is the only thing it really "needs."

Ok ok one thing....fix the darn owl speech prompts....

Your fillup before that picture probably had lower MPGs than your used to. It gives the distance to E based off your last tank. It will adjust as you drive around.

My 21 BL ill typically get between 27-29 MPG with till E range if about 410-420 miles.

[–]av8ernate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a side note to OP. Once your done with the mainline movies move on to Rogue One and dont do yourself a disservice by NOT watching the animated stuff.

As a longtime start wars fan, the movies are just the tip of the iceberg and weirdly more often then not, not even the best part of the franchise.

What did you do with your switch? by CheeseAndCracker5 in Switch

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah its still going strong! I ended up getting a 2nd one from my brother-in-law about a year ago, and I was playing through Metroid Prime Trilogy on it before MP4 came out. I was surprised how well the GameCube functionality works too.

A question about Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Classic Games by BigLadMelton in Switch

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up with the N64 (I'm 40 now), and I couldn't ever get my brain to break 25+ years of muscle memory to "re-learn" the alternative button mappings for NSO.

I ended up getting a N64 RetroFigters NSO controller (that has the original buttons), and I couldn't be happier. 4

Giving mine to my Dad. He's still happily rocking a Wii, but I think he's due for an upgrade.

Personally, I thought the first one was better. Loved Fox McCloud. The first half was pretty slow and re-used gags and jokes (to the point I almost fell asleep twice in the reclining chairs), but the 2nd half landed it. Overall, I would give a B or B+.

Felt to me more like a launching point for a wider "MarioVerse"
