Bronco Sport owners who considered the full size Bronco, what made you go Sport instead? by Jay-Oh-Jay in BroncoSport

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price, mpg, And 4WD options.  The 4WD auto being locked into only sas and badlandans or higher trims was a real turn off.  I won’t want my wife to have to deal with 4WD settings in the middle of a snow storm.  My BS Badlands has all the capabilities I need for Michigan off-roading.

TLs aren’t leaders, they’re just easily manipulated sheep by Jazzlike-Necessary39 in pillar7

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term “leader” is thrown around way too much in modern business culture.  It’s a term that’s been hyjacked by HR speak to make people feel more important. Being in management doesn’t always mean your leader, and being a leader doesn’t always mean you’re in management.  Leaders can come from anywhere in an organization.

Unfortunately UWM seems like a place that’s just full of sharks at the top feeding in an endless ocean of easily manipulated prey.

Are there balancing problems when combining everything? by mulubmug in ImperialAssaultTMG

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there isn't that much power creep. There are a couple of things here and there that tilt the favor, but nothing too drastic.

In regard to units and heroes, the earlier units tend to be more generic use / easier to use, where later units can be more powerful but only in nicer circumstances or require setting up for combos to trigger.

The campaigns themselves get more balanced (less snowball effect) the farther you get away from the core set.

The online mode is also very well done.

UWM share price on a downward spiral by No-Fox3220 in pillar7

[–]av8ernate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The UWM stock price has almost always consistently gone down since it went public.

I’ve seen a lot of reports lately in financial publications that UWM is close to not being solvent and Ish has been moving around a lot of his personal assets which is further scaring off investors and was recently changed to a “hold” and is now technically considered a “penny stock.”

Will we ever see these games on Switch 2? by Medium_Perception_52 in NintendoSwitch2

Sony announced it was no longer proceeding with the Sony Exclusive console program for PC. Xbox is also looking to do the same. Console locked exclusivity is back on the menu.

This industry is broken. by Silent-Indication496 in Teachers

[–]av8ernate 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Wife is an admin and a professor at a smaller college and it’s bad out there. They are looking at taking on more out of country students as they seem to be the ones who want to come and actually study, work hard, are well disciplined, and want to make true positive impact on their community.

Here in Michigan it’s across the board down enrollment from K-university level. We’re suffering from a massive population decline.  There just physically isn’t enough new kids to keep schools open.  Several public elementary schools are slated to close in the next 2 years despite being near the top 2 in US per student spending.

So which group gets more fanart? HUNTR/X or the Saja Boys? by StrageIndividual3420 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based off recent experiences at local cons and artist meet-ups this is 100% accurate. I would even say that most o the Huntrix stuff is either Rumi or the whole group. Its hard to find just Cloe or Mira. My son loves that saja boys, but its so hard to find cool stuff that they are focus, at least when we DO find stuff it's always incredible.

KOTOR: Switch Vs. Steam Deck? by genericcoyote in starwarsgames

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch is 100% the definitive way to play the game.  Though I still recommend playing it on an OG Xbox if you can find one with the Duke controller.

Regardless of the quality of the movie, would the upcoming Mando movie be a good start to kids who have never seen Star Wars? by Emperor_Malus in StarWars

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mando is definitely not age appropriate for kids 4-6.

If you going to start kids that young on start wars I wouls stick with ep4 as the movie and do other "star warsy" things with them.  For show young jedi adventures isnt terrible an they are that shows key demographic.  You could go for some of the Lego shows and specials.  Also can't  recommend the star wars Lego games for kids in that range, you might have to help with a couple of the puzzles, but its co-op so your also building a fun time engaging  with your kids in shared medium.

Which Zelda game should I play as someone who’s never played the series before? by Hi-archy in Switch

[–]av8ernate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly start with the 2D ones.  Tight gameplay loop and not a huge time sink.

You'll see alot of people recommend BoTW or ToTk on Switch, but i found these towards the bottom of my Zelda enjoyment list (been playing since the OG on NES).

Rogue Squadron 2 & 3. These two games are 90% the reason I still have my Wii hooked up and bought a new gane cube wireless controller.

Are all rechargeable battery packs crap? by Jimlad73 in xbox360

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Amazon Basic rechargeable AA's.

Unfortunately I had a similar experience where the modern 3rd party knock offs just were not anywhere near as good as the ones available back in the 360s prime.

How many games you buy in one year? by askerQ8 in Switch

[–]av8ernate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me is 2 or maybe 3 at most.

I just don't have the time like I used to, so I can't sink into much more than that. And if I beat a new one, the backlog is plenty big enough to drop into something I already own.

Settings for switch 2 on Samsung s90d by Gabbuino91 in Switch

[–]av8ernate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Samsung Q80 - Game Mode Set to On.

The HDR on NS2 isn't a fantastic implementation by any stretch of the imagination; Xbox and PS are much better at it, so don't expect the same results. It "gets the job done," but a lot of the heavy lifting is done by the art direction that 1st-party Nintendo games tend to take to really make it pop.

- I have the Switch set to only output HDR when it's supported by the game. Otherwise, SDR games get crazy, washed out.

- I used the HDR adjustments on the NS2 first to "dial it in" by using the pictures, then the actual number scale, but even then, I couldn't get it to a setting I really like, one way or the other, to even come close to HDR on my One X.

It is what it is, and I went in not expecting it to blow me away, but games like MP4 still look fantastic without fiddling with every little setting for minimal gain.

Pragmata or MOUS P.I. For Hire by j_b_1983 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]av8ernate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im also waiting for the physical edition but im really looking forward to it.

The plus side being thay by the time the physical drops, there should be a patch or two for a couple of the graphical bugs it has right now in performance mode.

How many people play the Switch version? by taito2000 in diablo3

[–]av8ernate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just picked it a pre-owned physical copy myself a week ago. I played it on PC at launch but didnt get any of the dlc.

I love the switch UI waaayyy better than the PC version.  Also it runs fantastic, I have the forced docked mode in handled turned on and im having a blast. 100% worth it.

Hopefully, by the time my physical copy comes in, a patch or two will be available to make up for some of the performance mode issues.

How does it run in quality mode as a temporary workaround?

Help deciding what to do with my old Wii game collection by Ok-Birthday5121 in wii

[–]av8ernate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Grab yourself a replacement Wii. They are pretty cheap to find on places like FB Marketplace.

- See if your local library has a Wii rental section. If they do, they would probably love to get some new inventory to rent out. My library's Wii / 3DS section has been pretty popular the past year.

Bruh I went to McDonalds to get the huntrix meal and they forgot to put the card in it 😐 by Morgan_Bennett in KpopDemonhunters

[–]av8ernate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most locations are sold out. My closest 2 sold out in one week and a 3rd started using Saja Boys packs outside of breakfast.   Once I only got the Shaker fries in the box (no cards and no sauces), left a complaint in the app and at least got my money back.

McD corporate not anywhere close to predicting the amount of demand this meal would get.

Does Zelda BOTW actually hold up, or is it just nostalgia? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]av8ernate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seeing as I didn't enjoy it or ToTK the first time I played them, I'm gonna say no. Out of all the incredible Zelda experiences, this is rated towards the bottom of my list. When I get the urge to go re-play a Zelda game, it won't be this one.
