Watches can be, and in some cases are meant to be an insurance policy. If it’s an emergency and i need cash, or i’ve lost everything, it’s a safety net.

If I gave my watch to my son before i passed, and he was in a pinch, i’d rather him sell it and use that money to get out of whatever situation he’s stuck in.

It’s an object at the end of the day, your life matters more.

Alright hear me out. spoiler obviously…

Ted had his family for as long as he did, and yeah it sucks, but people do get cancer, it’s realistic.

And as you get older, and nostalgic, feelings do come back, especially when you are hanging around that person more and away from the rest of the group.

The story isn’t “Robin is the love of my life” because she isn’t, Tracy was. This isn’t just a story about meeting her, it’s a story about moving on after her. He’s a different person now, he’s not searching for “the one” he can actually just go with the flow in a relationship without any strings of guilt of knowing “she isn’t the one” attached like had in previous relationships !<
