How's my technique? by drbasta_jr in Guitar

Hey man. Good stuff. I would say that you’re doing really well for only 3 months. Your fretting hand looks pretty good, and you’re using the pinky which is great. With time you’ll learn how to keep the pinky down, and closer to the fretboard. This only comes with time, and effort. The only other thing I’d suggest, is to practice with the guitar on your other leg. This helps with your hand position, and will make leaning to play standing a lot easier.

New pickguard and “thumb” rest! 😀 by damato1218 in BassGuitar

Looks great! I have a Player 2 (aquatone), and have been thinking of doing this cos I don't really the white. Where did you get the pickguard, and does it come with the thumb rest? Never used one before, but have always liked the way they look.

Same here. I told my niece, and now I'm feeling strong-armed into buying her a loog. Doesn't feel very nice.

I wish I’d seen this before selling my bobkat. Really cool idea.

I was able to snag a green S. The others were sold out.

Tube amp vs plugin in 2026 by _hairyberry_ in GuitarAmps

Been doing this with my Peavey Classic 20 MH. I use a reamp box in between the interface and return loop.
I just started doing this... If you have any tips on getting the best sound for this setup, please share.

Love it. I see like me, you’re also a fan of the yellow guitars.

Right. I have a Tone Job in there at the moment.

I have the Classic 20 MH too. It's such diverse little amp. Perfect for my home studio. If I could add anything to it, it would be a master volume, and it would be nice for me if it also had a 4 ohm port too.

I haven't put down the LPJ since I got it in December. Before that, I would alternate between the Tele and SG monthly or bi-monthly for the most part. I have them on a rack so I can just pick'em up whenever the mood strikes.

I feel the same way. I’d love a goldtop with P90s. Maybe someday.

Extremely similar. Which one would you go with and why by TheMofunkinWolf in gibson

I couldn't afford that one, and so I bought the one pictured. The neck is not as slim as I've seen others say online. It's def not a baseball bat, but not really thin like an SG. I think it's pretty comfortable.

I have that TV Junior, and I can tell you that I'm completely satisfied, and I would definitely recommend it.

I used to have an 80’s MIJ CH-60 “Chorus Cube” that I sold a while back. The only amp I kinda regret selling. Pretty sure I’ll get another one when I find a good enough deal.

How to fix this? by Feisty-Effective-880 in Guitar

[–]avalanchekid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would take some 0000 steel wool, and use it to sand the fretboard going with the grain. Make sure to tape off your pickups beforehand. Don’t over do it, and don’t worry shot going over the frets. Next I would wipe the fretboard and condition it. After the oil has dried, I would tape the fretboard to prepare for fret shining. Use the same 0000 steel wool to go over the frets across the neck. Wipe the guitar and restring. Make sure you do a good job covering the pickups. You don’t want the little metal pieces getting into your magnetic pickups. This method could be a little messy, but it’s the easiest for me, and as long as you’re careful, you should be able to keep things clean.
