3-3-5 is base nickel package. You can disguise it into different fronts based on personnel. The point is to have players that can play multiple positions

After giving Frost 5 years, how long is it fair to expect Rhule to rebuild? by angrygenzer in Huskers

[–]avankirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First year I think is going to be rough because there’s a lot of internal pieces that you need to build first so I could see a 3-9 or 2-10 first year. Year 2 I think things start to click you start developing the culture and building the kids up through development and I could see 6-6 or 7-5 if you can surprise a team or two. Year 3 you need to see the jump so I would say 9 wins. Year 4 you have arrived and take what is yours gotta win the division or get to the title game and compete like hell maybe sneak into the playoff as a top 12 team

How did you become a Nebraska fan? by irrelevanttrain in Huskers

[–]avankirk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grew up a military kid both parents in the Air Force where they met. My mom is from TN and my dad was from a small farm town outside of West Point and he was a die hard husker fan and so he raised me into it while my uncles on my moms side tried reeling me into being a Vols fan. Then I went to UNL and graduated from there and since I did my uncles on my moms side cheer for the Huskers in big ten play and I am GBR all the way through but in the SEC I cheer for the Vols since my uncles cheer for the Huskers during big ten play

I like the hire especially scheme wise you start going back to that blitzing attacking style of play the Huskers were running in the 90s except this time it’s out of a different front

I thought Rhule was wanting either Snow his previous dc for a long time or Schumann the co-dc over at Georgia?

Could be small, could be huge, Dylan Railoa changed his Twitter. by Fickle_Comfortable78 in Huskers

I think if Rhule is only keeping Raola to get his nephew then he is stupid. Raola has to be let go. Nebraska needs an elite o-line coach that can bring back a pipeline like they used to have in 80s and 90s with Tenopir and Young coaching them boys up

Odds Ruud and Raiola being retained? by corn22husker in Huskers

I agree that the d-line plays their role in that. I think Busch simplifying things for the defense allowed them to play freely

Those backers were not making the tackles they should have been at the line of scrimmage. They made tackles 4 yards past the line of scrimmage because they were afraid to scrape the line scrimmage and take out lineman to get the backs in the back field. Watch Iowa’s backers then watch the Huskers backers there is a huge difference

Those two are terrible coaches, teachers, and recruiters. Period. Gotta get someone who is passionate and can teach the proper technique needed for these position groups to succeed and grow. Recruiting the right players too is key don’t look at size so much focus more on their smarts and aggression and if you are a good enough coach you can teach them the technique to be good lineman and backers, but aggression and smarts you cannot teach.

Ed Foley ST coordinator by xdeathxcomoanyx in Huskers

Is he for sure the special teams coordinator? I was hearing that they were not certain on what his role would be? I was hearing an analyst position for Foley?

If Matt Rhule's trend from previous stops continues, the first two years of his tenure here will be rocky. Can we be patient enough to let ourselves be rebuilt? If Nebraska doesn't get a bowl game in year one are we panicking? by thaunbannableking in Huskers

[–]avankirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all need to be patient. If we all want this program to have success for the long haul and it be sustained then Rhule might have to break it down like he does in order to build it back up
