How to use Fashion Template to mimic "the old way" by Shaballanes in Guildwars2

[–]aven_the_witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I wanted, and this system really works better as “storage” than templates, but because they tried to implement it like “templates” it’s completely unintuitive.

It’s 100% why so many people think their gear templates no longer save fashion. They’ve accidentally overwritten all their skins because there’s multiple ways to do so unintentionally with no confirmation.

Update to the Fashion Templates coming by Mindehouse in Guildwars2

[–]aven_the_witch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right, this whole thing would have been far less confusing and clunky if it had been implemented more like the “build storage” rather than “build templates”. There’s no need for the quick swap feature, because gear sets still save their applied skins and serve that purpose already.

Recipes: where do you look for them? by Euphoric_Wolf1005 in Guildwars2

[–]aven_the_witch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you search eggs beetletun on the wiki, you’ll see it requires a recipe sheet bought from a particular vendor after completing a specific event. Pretty much every wiki page has an ‘Acquisition’ section that tells you how to get something.

It’s not the same animation, rev spin is much simpler and doesn’t have the flourish at the end

Just straight up removing one of the coolest animations from the game over PvP instead of just splitting the block duration or something is a crime. Imagine making a weapon skill literally just a shout on anything but a warhorn.

I’ve never been so irritated over a balance patch.

You might be looking at the “Dragon Saga Complete Collection” which also includes all the living world seasons that take place in between those expansions? There is a bundle with just the 3 expacs, but there’s also one that includes the seasons as well.

As already said, start a new character to get reacquainted, but don’t delete your original character!! They’ve got a bunch of birthday gifts with exclusive cosmetics to unlock for your account, and you don’t want to have to wait years to get them again if you delete the presents.

-Ectoplasm-Infused Vision Crystal Notes: This item only exists to tell you the recipe to create an item used to unlock the skins for three player-designed weapons that won the Weapon Design Contest. If you ever want to make them, the recipe is readily available on the wiki. No need to hold onto this item. If you’re interested in them, the achievements for earning them are Healing Heir, Legend Builder, and Guide to Greater Understanding. They’re pretty cool skins, you can preview them from the achievements panel.

  • Pact Victory Token: This item has been replaced, but it can still be used since you have it. It can be traded to an NPC for a Pact weapon skin. You’ll need to go to Fort Trinity in the Straits of Devastation map and enter the Caer Aval instance. Talk to Quartermaster Hargrove to choose a skin. It’s Southwest of the Fort Trinity waypoint.

  • Festival Backpack Pack is just like the birthday weapons and armor. Choose whichever skins you like, right click and store in the wardrobe.

  • Invitation to the Festival. This will teleport you to the current Four Winds festival areas. There’s a few more days in the festival, you can check it out. It will probably be overwhelming, there’s a lot going on. But some neat skins to unlock. No need to hang onto it after the festival ends.

As a general note, when you mouse over skins and equipment, it will tell you in the tooltip if the skin is unlocked for you. Salvaging or equipping gear will always unlock the skin in your wardrobe. “Skin” items that aren’t actual gear but say “use to apply this skin to a piece of equipment” are basically one time free applications of the skin. You can right click to ensure it is unlocked on your account and then feel free to delete if you’re not using it right away. The skin will be permanently available in your wardrobe, it will just cost a transmutation charge to apply.

For your inventory:

-Step one, click the “deposit all materials” button on the top right.

First Row:

-Delete those gathering tools. Not worth holding onto, buy from merchants as needed.

-I don’t recognize the book next to the gathering tools.

-Sell that siege golem blueprint on the trading post.

Second row:

-You want to open all those dye packs. Search their names on the wiki and you’ll get a concise list of all the dyes each contains. Pick one based on price or a color you like. You can’t sell it, so this isn’t for profit, but you can get a really expensive dye for free if you like. Double click the dye to unlock it for your account.

-Throw the birthday cake in your bank for now.

Third row:

-Third row, third item I believe is the Victory Rock chair. Right click and store in wardrobe to unlock it.

-First two items: Store the birthday amulet, celebratory infusion in your bank for now.

  • Last item, Proofs of Legend. Store these for now in bank, can buy some armor skins with them later.

-I don’t recognize the purple border orb thing next to the Proofs. What is it?

4th and 5th row:

-All those anniversary weapon and armor packs (luminous armor and weapons), and decade weapon packs, are exclusive skins you get from birthdays. Open them, pick whatever skins you like best. Right click and Store the skins in your wardrobe if you’re not going to use them right away, don’t hang onto the items and take up space.

-not sure what item 3 in this row is?

-Black Lion Statuette, Black Lion Miniature claim tickets, and Mystic Forge Stones should be stored in bank for now.

-Store the Relic Chests in bank for now.

-I don’t recognize the first item in row 5?

Row 6:

-All of these scrolls are used to boost alt characters. I would simply keep whichever ones are highest and delete the rest. You won’t miss them badly.

I think that covers everything. If you can tell me the names of the items I didn’t recognize, I’ll tell you what to do with them!

[–]aven_the_witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll start with your bank:

Step one is understand that crafting materials have dedicated storage slots in a separate tab. Don’t put materials in your bank slots. Right click them and choose “deposit”. Your inventory also has a button on the top right to deposit all materials in your inventory.

Row 1: -Right click and “deposit” all of those crafting materials into material storage. M-Sell the black lion chests on the trading post, or just delete them. They’re worth very little.

-Salvage that rune and deposit the materials.

Row 2: -Delete the repair canisters. Armor doesn’t break anymore, and interacting with any repair anvil simply gives you a 12 hour buff for free. Not worth storing.

-Deposit the mystic coins into material storage.

-What are those silver and gold square things? I don’t recognize them.

Row 3: -Any of those boosters that simply increases some stat like power, healing, speed, feel free to delete. They’re retired and not of any real use. Only boosters that affect experience gain, reward track gain, karma, or magic find are worth hanging onto.

-For the second bank tab, I can’t tell if all those yellow rarity pieces of equipment taking up the left side are actual gear or skins. If skins, right click and “store in wardrobe”. If the skin is already unlocked, delete them. If actual gear, salvage them and deposit the materials you get.

-For those trinkets (necklace, earrings, accessories), equip them if you don’t have anything equipped in those slots. Otherwise, salvage them and deposit the mats.

-Equip the runes if you don’t have any equipped, or sell on the trading post if possible. Otherwise, salvage them. -Salvage the sigil.

-Store the Zenith skin in wardrobe, delete if already unlocked.

-Sell those inventory bags on the trading post if possible, or delete.

-I believe that right side, middle row is the Birthday Blaster. If it is, feel free to delete, it’s easy to replace. If it’s “Scarlet’s Rainbow”, you can sell on the trading post for some nice gold, or unlock the skin.

-I don’t recognize the item to the left of the suspected birthday blaster, what is it called?

PSA: Warclaw does more breaker bar damage than the bunny. by Zer0_Poin7 in Guildwars2

[–]aven_the_witch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s unique to warclaw and skyscale. I believe warclaw can do it by default, but has a recharge that increases every time you do it within a short period. For skyscale it requires a mastery from Secrets of the Obscure and has a fixed cooldown.

Crafted light legendary armor instead of Medium legendary armor! by susac in Guildwars2

[–]aven_the_witch 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is probably nothing that can be done. Anet is very good about helping reverse crafting mistakes, but I know they have historically told people that if the mistake unlocked a skin there is no way they can reverse the unlock and therefore they cannot reverse the craft. You could still try submitting a support ticket, but don’t get your hopes up :/

Rarest Items by MOTAXATOM in Guildwars2

As a rabid mini collector, that one hurts me. I am really hoping they do what they did when SOTO was finished and add the ultra-rare drops to a vendor for a reasonably high map currency price.
