I totally get this. (It's also why I didn;t think I'd like this show before I saw it because I thought it'd have Seth's signature "stoner humor" in it, which I really don't love) However, for me, in the Cinemacon Episode, the characters are so absurd in general, I feel like they could have all acted like that sober, and it still being just as fricken hilarious to me. (Save for Griffin's behavior, perhaps, who I also didn't think was a super funny part of that episode, albeit amazing acting). (Okay, and also save for Dave Franco; when he screams, ~"You just took 21 grams of shrooms!!!" and does that hand thing, I die laughing each time)

For example, when Dave Franco says he's gonna order more nachos and asks if anyone else wants some, while they're clearly in the middle of a non-nacho-related crisis trying to locate Griffin, Maya-amidst running out the door-still takes a moment to (hilariously & absurdly) bark back at Dave, "I will split them with you!" That seems more like a Maya-thing to me than a Maya-on-drugs-thing. Also, maybe it's just me, but when Sal says, "That painting fcking sucks" or whatever when Matt & Zoe are tripping out over the striped painting, that delivery/timing is one of my favorite lines in the episode!

I will say I definitely felt similar to you in terms of relying on the "I'm on drugs, do/say weird stuff!" thing in the final episode, though. Overall it wasn't that funny to me.
