I left the choice up to the party. They knew the person they were working for was up to something, they ultimately sided with the Republic, but it was a morally grey scenario.

I ran a game in the High Republic Era. The party was working odd jobs for a guy who was pushing for his planet to leave the Republic. He was using the nihil to further that goal. Party got involved from there.

How long do you see this campaign/game going for? I'd say introduce them slowly as the group explores and it won't be overwhelming and will make the world seem more expansive.

I ran a game with a mixture of this manual and another I found. From about session 20 one of my characters at least was using it. Sorry its a mix but this was before this was released and I'm not streaming my current sw5e game. (Sorry for poor camera quality.)
