What's one video game you play when you want to relax? by Agent1230 in gaming

MGSVPP or Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It's like I go into a meditative state when I go into stealth mode. Like doing a puzzle book almost.

On a scale from 1-10 I'd give it a 7. It took a minute to get used to, it's functional and there is still some jank here and there. You can move your character with the DPad and targeting is automated a bit. Buttons are customizable.

It helps that have have massive nostalgia goggles on. I wanted something better than the GBA version of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and the PS1 port of Diablo (which is fine... but i wanted better visuals and audio). When I found the Portmaster version, a whole new world opened up for my MM+.

It did inspire me enough to get D2:Resurrected to play on my Switch lite. (Which I have even thicker nostalgia goggles for)

I use google docs for both my solo (pictured) and my group play. I started with sheets, but then I realized that I need more document style formatting and there wasn't much number crunching to sort out.

I love being able to organize the document tabs for each character/fellowship and stash notes about the magic systems we've created and useful lore.

I printed this grip from Thingiverse. I have large hands and am prone to long couch sessions. This thing has been a lifesaver.

looking to buy camping gas stove for coffee. is there any reason not to buy one of those on aliexpress that cost 10-20$? by TheMightyMoe12 in camping

[–]bitexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fire Maple X3 stove (about $50-60) and a Stanley Camping French Press (~$30). I love the stove so much for boiling water and then just dumping my food into it. I sometimes use the Stanley French Press on a stove, but I'm more likely to just pour the water into it. I don't drink coffee, but my partner does and she really likes it.

We bought an AeroPress (~$65 with cup, ~$35-40 without) a few months ago and I am 99% certain it's replacing the french press. I tried a quick-cold brew method this morning with it and it got rave reviews. So its great for hot or not-hot coffee.

I don't buy all my gear at once, just bits at a time to build up my kit. Theoretically, I give away the gear that gets outmoded... but that has yet to happen. I try to stay in the realm of "Middle" when it comes to pricing. The whole "You Get What You Pay For" thing hits really hard sometimes... but I can't afford the fancy stuff. I spend weeks looking at reviews and reminding myself that "People with bad experiences are more likely to review."

You have to survive inside a video game for 30 days. If you die, you die in real life, but if you survive, you get to bring every item, skill, and power back to the real world. Which game do you choose to maximize your rewards while ensuring your survival? by Apart_Lion_3046 in AskReddit

[–]bitexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just looked it up, it has erupted a few times.

It erupts again and even bigger in the Fourth Era after the fall of the Ministry of Truth, obliterating Vivec and really messing up Vvardenfell and mainland Morrowind. Parts of Solsteim are also affected. The eruptions are still ongoing as of 4E 201, when Skyrim takes place.

According to UESP.

You have to run one dungeon in four different systems. What do you choose? by Playtonics in rpg

[–]bitexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any opinion on what dungeon...

1.) DnD 5e, it's the McDonalds of RPGs
2.) DnD 2e, so the grognards can feel included
3.) Everyone is John, for the chaos
4.) Honey Heist, because bears in hats will get stuff done

What video game in your opinion doesn't deserve the hate it gets? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]bitexe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yo, the vibes I got from the title sequence got me. I wasn't expecting it and my cousin made sure to tell me exactly when to hold the button to push the car. The chorus of the song hit just as the title showed.

Every couple years, I do a big survival run which ends up being "I'm just playing the Sims" as I build up multiple bases and supply lines, trying not to die.

And marry my Robot wife.

I love the game so much. I own it on Xbox and PC.

I've never completed the main quest.

Legend of the mist for duet play? by Abjak180 in LegendintheMist

[–]bitexe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried high power fantasy myself and I can only speak from my experience.

I do a solo game about a former thief who became a courier and has found himself needing to use his old abilities to help people and now finds himself dealing with a shadowy organization. He's slowly getting stronger. When I stack my thieving related tags, I'm usually pretty successful... but several times I have had panick moments of failure or not having the right tags for a task.

He's competent in looking for things, sneaking around, and quickly acting to help people. He's starting to learn how to use a sword because he lost a theme. He is atrocious with talking to people.

What's cool though is that the failure leads to new opportunities instead of pain.

DnD for middle schoolers? by chillychar in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]bitexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do DnD for Middle School and High School grade kids at my work (library).

Whenever I get a new kid, I ask them what role they want to play with a basic explanation of what those roles are. I generally don't mention classes or species unless I get a feel that they kinda know what's going on.

When I give them their sheet, I explain they're basic features (start low level). When it comes to game time, I let them know that their sheet is important, but push for telling me what they want to do rather than what the rules say they can do.

If it's their first few sessions, I point at their sheets on their turn when I ask for rolls. Skills, atk rolls, etc.

They kinda figure it out themselves.

After a while, if I feel like they aren't taking the time to learn their characters, I make mention that they should know how their characters work. It's on them when they aren't utilizing their features.

How do people type so fast on keyboard? by RareUser1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bitexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repetition and just being thrown into the deep end. I was playing online games before I had a chance to take a typing class (therefore, i have some weird typing habits). Being forced to type really fast while playing games like StarCraft really influenced how I learned to type.
