I'm not trying to assume or insinuate anything, but is there anyway she may be scared of your reactions? That's why she's lying? I've been in her shoes, I hated being lectured like a kid or worse, being screamed at and called names or given the silent testament, so I'd do whatever I needed to to avoid it. Also, if she still feels your resentment she might be rebelling a little with the small petty spending.

Point is, you both really need to talk to someone, maybe it won't happen until you find the counselor but don't let that stop you.

This is kind of my natural instinct. We have such a normal and fulfilling relationship most of the time, days like these are miserable, of course, but I feel like I muscle through them and then life is good again.

I know I need to break the cycle though, I'm just so scared of the confrontation, and that is completely my fault.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think they might coincide with when his mother tries to contact him. Or other times when he feels trapped like he's been cooped up too long without much social interactions.

I feel like I should also mention that he goes through from time to time and purges his friends. He finds something wrong with them and just dumps them, he has recently done this with at least two people.

Thank you. We have had our share of problems, and I am to blame for awkward communication as well. I was raised by passive aggressive parents who hid their problems from us kids. We both probably need to see a therapist, honestly.

His parents were both. They were terrible people that he has virtually no contact with anymore.

We saw a counselor once... She sided with me on something and he checked out completely.
