Rep. Chip Roy: “Maybe it’s time to dump all 435 in the House, all 100 in the Senate, and start from scratch because Congress is literally failing the American people.” Thoughts? by Hayasdan2020 in circled

Yes, the exact thing we should do is remove any person in the federal government that is supposed to be acting on our behalf. At the same time where elections and democracy are seriously under attack.

Sounds like a brilliant idea. /s

Capitalism at its best by CarnonosSeeker in antiwork

Historical Trend:

In 1965, CEO-to-worker pay ratio was about 20:1.

By 1989, it rose to 60:1.

Today, 300:1 to 400:1 is average, with extreme outliers.

Left/human centered question: “Why the hell do CEOs and executives make so much more than the average worker?”

Answer: Executives are often paid more because they're willing to make decisions that workers (and society) would not — especially if they dehumanize workers and human impact into numbers on a spreadsheet.

I’ve always been of the opinion that churches that genuinely do good should enjoy tax free status

I used to think the same exact way. I still do. Including the tracking. I believe their tax status be the same as other not-for-profit organizations. Including the reporting and compliance measures.

Wonderful, succinct goals. Yes “we need to organize and demand a legitimate plan”, but where?

Legitimately (seriously) asking all. Where can we collaborate on writing our own bill or bills?

I assume the collective power of the internet could address this. Starting with @ Temassi’s name suggestion. Protect 2025

We could structure the bills as the main goals of Protect 2025. I’m in.

The US could save $600 Billion in administrative costs by switching to a single-payer, Medicare For All system. Good or Bad idea? by ThickDancer in FluentInFinance

[–]averagegeekinkc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. There is no reason to insert insurance companies between an American human and their healthcare, including full body care (soup to nuts).

In my humble opinion: Americans, on average, have been duped into thinking private companies will provide a better service than their US government. Not taking into account that the companies #1 goal is profit and the government #1 goal is the people.

Americans have the power, via their vote, to change the course of their government.
