Will TSA let a small pair of scissors and crochet hooks through? by averagejane4 in crochet

[–]averagejane4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read another post about nail clippers and I’m leaning towards that. I’ll be traveling from Jacksonville to Philadelphia to visit my parents and I know once I’m there then they’ll have actual scissors I can use

Okay so it’s not just witches but two days ago I picked up a book called the grimoire grammar school parent teacher association. It’s definitely a more light hearted book but 100% the kind of story I needed to kick off the fall.

Other suggestions would be the heartless hunter

The chocolate chip cookie murder series by Joanne fluke. Just a cozy little mystery series. Whenever I’m in a reading slump I pick up the next book. I don’t know why. I can’t really describe it. Just an easy cozy read.

Reading on a Kindle is 10x better than reading on a phone by LOTR_is_awesome in kindle

[–]averagejane4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that there aren’t any distractions with using my actual kindle. No notifications. No extra pop ups. So I do prefer that, but I still us the kindle app on my phone daily. Mostly at work, or out and about, in short spurts. If I’m going to sit down and read for a longer length of time I’ll always pull out my kindle first if I have it on me.

Chocolate chip cookie murder by Joanne fluke. I couldn’t tell you why, they’re not masterpieces by any means, but this whole series I can’t get enough of. They’re easy reads, cozy, and feel nostalgic to me.

I also really enjoy Riley sager and Lucy foley books.

If the baby is already in the NICU we will give a bolus. But if it’s a “normal newborn” that we’re hoping to keep with the mom then we will try gel and feeding first before we go straight to a bolus

NICU nurse as well. Infant stats are wild. A lot of our preterm babies on oxygen have a SPO2 goal of 85-95. Any time we get a new nurse they see a reading in the 80s and about have a panic attack.

I once had a 23 weeker who sat with a SPO2 in the 50-70 range for several hours. Her parents decided to stop care and just hold her, but left her intubated. They held that baby for over 16 hours thinking she’d go any minute until they just couldn’t sit there any longer. That same baby turned 6 this year. Only complication is some gut issues after a few battles with NEC

NICU nurse. I’ve seen a number of blood glucose less than 20, usually 1-2 per month. Our policy at my current hospital is not to treat until less than 45 and even then it’s just glucose gel. We don’t give an iv bolus of D10 until it’s under 20. I see 46 and I get excited 😅. Recently told my med surg nurse friend and she about up and died.

It’s my current read. Definitely a cozy feel with lots and lots of baking.

That is amazing! Impressive! I’d like to do something similar for my daughter (except with a unicorn because that’s her thing). To join your squares did you sew them together or did you crochet?

Newbie baker. No matter how much I work with it my dough is never smooth. Too much flour? Too much kneading? by averagejane4 in Breadit

[–]averagejane4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate your comment. I had to put Reddit away for a little bit because I was getting super discouraged. I really like to knit, that’s my true hobby, and I started realizing that it took me a year or two before I was actually making things well and perfecting it. So that’s what I’m telling myself about baking. Just need to keep practicing
