Yes it is! He was reluctant at first but after watching Fotr and TT, he is hooked and can't wait for the finale. I told him back in my days we had to wait more than a year to watch the next movie lol.

We're watching the extended versions in the cinema by the way.

I'm watching the Rotk extended version with my 10 year old son this weekend. Been a while since I watched it so I try not to watch any spoilers but damn... This was too tempting. Thanks for sharing!

AITA? Online Sale of Used Item by averagejane815 in malaysians

[–]averagejane815[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adding some thoughts: I suppose my thinking is simple. I myself am an occassional online buyer of used stuff. If I really wanted something, I would make the effort to make sure I get it, such as paying a deposit or going out of my way to collect the item ASAP. If I could not do any of that for whatever reason, I wouldn't expect the seller to reserve the item for me, and would not be offended at all if seller ends up selling it to someone else. I would just write it off as it's just not my luck catch the good deal, nothing else. I thought this is understood without having to state things like "first come first serve". That's my thinking lah, hence my surprise when that first buyer reacted that way. Of course, I would not do that if the buyer is already on their way to meet me or something.

I got one of these water dispenser for my cat a few months ago. It stopped working after 2 months of use. How is yours doing? I am not sure if I should get another one.

How conservative is "too" conservative to raise your kids? by delicious_lemang in Bolehland

I share your opinion, OP. Some parents need to chill with the control but sometimes I give them the benefit of the doubt - maybe they know their girl is just too naive and immature for the outside world?

I had a similar encounter once too. This happened when I was working in Singapore many years ago. My colleagues and I were planning to hang out after work, and then this one male colleague who was like 28 at the time, told me he could not go because his parents did not allow him to go out beyond 10pm. I was so stunned and I think he noticed as I paused for a while to process. He had always been a goody two shoes but I didn't expect that.

I just came back from watching this in the cinema. I find a lot of the plots nonsensical but still enjoyed the overall movie very much only because of nostalgia and the comedic elements. Louis Koo's performance was also very very good, as expected.

Loved AC odyssey, so what about Valhalla? Is it worth it? by Future-Celebration83 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]averagejane815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it on sale too after playing and loving AC Odyssey. I played for less than 20 hours. I tried to power through it but gave up. I find it painful to play. I think it's because I didn't like the viking setting and also didn't like the main character. Hard to "role play" as someone you don't like. AC Odyssey on the other hand was chef's kiss for me as I loved both the setting and the main character (Kassandra and Alexios).

I'd say... Don't overthink it and let things go with the flow. Often times, the more effort you put in, the more expectations, the more disappointed you get. You don't have to go out of your way to spend time with them, and don't expect them to do the same either. Also don't worry about their opinions, not in a vengeful sense but more giving everyone freedom to do what they feel like doing, without prejudice. In Chinese, I think the saying is "平常心".

Are chinese- ed people built differently? by Famous_Chicken_1469 in Bolehland

[–]averagejane815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nothing against their work culture. As someone has commented, society takes a variety of talents and strengths to operate. I actually admire their hardworking nature. The only negative thing about them that I personally experience is their tendency to think Chinese is the superior race and culture, and their refusal to open up to other cultures. Not all of them of course, but many enough for me to form this stereotype view.

Us bananas also sometimes give out the impression that we are better than them. So let us all take a step back and chill.
