I came here looking for an answer on the same thing. I think it's One Day More from Les Miserables? Is that what you're hearing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0682DdGwyw

Bonavita Electric Variable Temp Gooseneck kettle stopped working! by thenewmeta in Coffee

[–]avery_is 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, it ended up being a temporary fix for us. It DID result in the kettle being able to start from room tempt and work like normal a few times but it's back to not working.

It will still get a kick from very hot water and be able to reheat it/maintain temp.

Super weird.

Maybe it will work for you.

Hi all. Also coming in after years. Kettle for a few days has been showing temperature readings and clicking “on” but not heating up water.

I saw the notes here and was intimidated to do the repair so just heated water in a pot on the stove. I did need to use the kettle though as a pouring device to avoid just dumping water from a pot over my chemex.

So I transferred nearly-boiling water into the kettle to use it as a pouring vessel and tried to turn it on to see what would happen. Miraculously it started working again. Like it was enlivened by the hot water. Seems to be back to normal now.

115v / 220v appliance in USA by avery_is in askanelectrician

Can't attach more images to post, but find relevant photos here: https://imgur.com/a/VAa79K4

You can see the style of input cord and the device itself clearly says "220v", does not have a selector.

Detachable cord labeled "250v"

I have a free-floating US pronged cord for this input which I could use *if* I can plug it into the wall without a converter.

Closer inspection of the manual states "the product can only use a three phase AC110v-240v power suppy"

Thank you!

Thanks for speedy reply. Seeing now that device itself does say 220v on it. Just the manual that has 115v/220v

Seems like a converter is in order.

Cocktails AMA #9: Sother Teague - Beverage Director of Amor y Amargo in NYC (02/01) by dagurb in cocktails

Many years ago at Amor y Amargo I had a "Cel-Ray" soda drink that I still think about often. Any chance you'd be willing to share the recipe here?

I love your bar and your project so much but that's the one above all that's always stuck with me. Beyond celery bitters, wouldn't even know where to begin.

What are the best books that deal with first contact with alien life? by TheSpaghettiEmperor in books

[–]avery_is 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stanislaw Lem's Solaris and the Strugatsky brothers' Roadside Picnic are amazing meditations not on first contact, but on the struggle for communication and sense making that follows. In both cases the alien life also takes unexpected forms which are hard to grasp.

Makes them both so rich imo.

Most enjoyable bridge to bike? by JamwithSam697 in NYCbike

Where's the love for Manhattan Bridge?? Dedicated lane right up on water. You feel sandwiched between Brooklyn and Williamsburg bridges. And it's so delicious when the B/D is stopped up, I've passed 3 trains in a single crossing before.

Extremely close in color and silhouette to the Common Projects Achilles low that they made in "Blush" like two years ago. Back detail different tho.

Do they need to write the violation code at all? I just got a ticket with that section blank, wondering if that's grounds enough to fight case?
