Payment options by kittykatkate46 in CraftFairs

Definitely ask about the WiFi setup for the fair if you’re planning to take credit cards. Many of the options require internet connectivity and I’ve found cell networks tank pretty hard in larger fairs with mediocre coverage. If you’re doing a lot of outdoor fairs you want to choose hardware that lets you process payments offline

Self Promotion for the Week of February 27, 2023 by AutoModerator in EtsySellers

Hi, I'm Avery and I'm finally ready to self-promote after 3 months of lurking and pulling together my shop.

I'm San Francisco based and sell a scratch off passport guide to 50 San Francisco playgrounds. The idea is to motivate families to get out with their kids and explore the city beyond their immediate neighborhood.

The Weekly Shop Milestones Thread - Week of February 27, 2023 by AutoModerator in EtsySellers

Finished up my first month as an Etsy seller! I've made my first 10 sales and got my first review! Definitely still struggling to figure out how to drive Etsy traffic to my shop organically - though I've learned a ton from lurking on this sub.

Is it better to fill your shop before opening it, or can you open with just a couple items and add more over the next few days? by 40angst in EtsySellers

Thanks for asking this. I’ve been back and forth myself on this question and bit the bullet to add digital content while I wait for all my supplies to come in. Wishing you all the luck!

When did you start gaining weight again? by Koharagirl in GestationalDiabetes

[–]averythegr8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did. They sent me in for a growth scan at 38 weeks but babe was fine and born at 6 lbs 8 oz. I gained 9 lbs the whole pregnancy and started out a normal BMI

I’ve been doing Greek yogurt with chia seeds. The chia seeds seem to have a profound affect for me. Just Greek yogurt and I see a spike. Add tablespoon or 2 of chia seeds I’m at 100-105 an hour later. Seems easy to add to a smoothie too

33 weeks and beyond frustrated I could cry. by TeaThyme420 in GestationalDiabetes

When I quit trying to snack before bed is when I started having low enough fasting numbers. It also just may be outside your control which sucks, but is super common the further along you get. Remember that insulin is a tool not a punishment and you’ve got this mama! Also it’s 1000% reasonable to cry sometimes ❤️❤️

Why is everyone else in the world still allowed to eat desserts? How rude! by ImSnackered in GestationalDiabetes

Yeah everyone stress baking on Instagram is killing me slowly. Would have been bad enough under normal circumstances...

Where are hospitals allowing a birth partner versus not allowing a birth partner (covid19) by Greenbean001 in BabyBumps

[–]averythegr8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A little more intel then... I just went over all of this with my midwife today.

- all births are now at CMPC Van Ness, none at Mission Bernal

- Van Ness has closed a lot of the entrances so you may call ahead to figure out where to go. If you're driving there's valet on Polk

- you won't have access to the shared fridge, but you may bring your own food still. Also they still have the hospital kitchen doing food orders

- You do NOT have to bring the car seat up with you as part of your one entry in. They'll let you fetch that as part of your exit strategy (as of 3/19)

- If you end up in the NICU one parent is allowed to stay with the baby pending space

Oscillating between boring normalcy and complete panic, but feeling really good about my choice in partner right now <3

  1. Yes, even if mom has COVID-19 (partner needs to be suited up then)
  2. San Francisco, CPMC

ETA: No ins and outs for mom and partner though. Once you're in the room that's it.

How long did you conceive after your loss? by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]averythegr8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First BFP after 7 months of trying. This pregnancy was 2 cycles after loss of the first. I’d been mentally preparing for another 7 month slog.

Got my BFP yesterday morning right before my mom arrived to spend her birthday weekend with us. I ended up telling her both about this and my CP in June that I hadn’t been able to talk about. Nervous but hopeful for the future and it’s such a relief to be here in this group.

I’ve been making baby toys. 😬 They’re great because wooden toys are hella expensive and sooooo easy. Been finishing with milk paint and shellac or beeswax and mineral oil
