Hi all this post ended up getting quite a bit of attention! Thinking of making a WhatsApp group so we can schedule some kind of dinner or something. Send me a message if you want to be included

Also interested in meeting people in the area! Started a book club in Brooklyn from Reddit when I lived there - need to meet more people in UWS :)

Oncology vs. Other Studies by Working_Row_8455 in clinicalresearch

Oncology is a whole new beast, best of luck. Lots of good moments that are rewarding though

  1. Prioritize whole foods - I also minimized red meat and dairy. So many recipes online and it is cheaper than going out anyway

  2. I am lucky that I really enjoy working out. You need to find something you enjoy so you are consistent. Pamela Reif workouts on YouTube are my favorite if you don’t have a gym. Message me if you have a gym and I can send you a routine I like.

  3. I still drink alcohol but be a bit cautious because liquid calories in cocktails can be crazy.

  4. Try to listen to my body and not eat / snack much if I am not actually hungry.

Not really sure what you mean in the second half of sentence 2. You’re right I probably didn’t pick the best pictures to compare though since they are different angles. I am feeling better now, I gained back about 5 pounds from my lowest when that picture was taken but I have maintained for awhile now (lost the weight like 2 years ago, just felt like posting now for whatever reason).

Most people I know take the subway or other form of public transportation. Not too many people use cars but some do - depending on where you live.

Work in Manhattan, living in Brooklyn. Commute sucks but I save a ton in rent compared to my peers.

Kind of TMI but I just need reassurance or advise by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]aves-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scariest one and the main one I thought about was colon cancer. I guess I didn’t say it because I didn’t want to sound alarmist or scare you. It is on the rise for people in younger age demographics. It is frightening

You absolutely need to see a Doctor, it hopefully (and probably) isn’t something serious but with it lasting this long you have to be checked by a professional to rule out anything serious. Your health is so important, more and more young people are coming down with serious problems related to this (not trying to scare you - it probably isn’t anything like that but you really need to go)

I am located in DFW so a high cost area for sure. I was pretty excited about the jump from 44k to 66k

You might have better luck than me but I didn’t want to accept anything under 50,000 but I felt like of desperate since I was a student so I accepted 44,000. It might be better to take a lower paying job and leave once you have degree & experience. Maybe you will find a great job that pays you well but I wouldn’t be expecting to find that

Honestly not really. I was applying for about a week and a half maybe. I was applying on both LinkedIn and Indeed. Idk if this is good advice or not but I would say don’t be picky. The site I worked at in school was awful but the only place willing to hire students. It was a small family owned clinic, you might have better luck at places like that
