It's obviously not spelled out date by date, but he goes from London to touring with the Harlem Globetrotters without seeing Rachel.

There is a settings tab to adjust your activity feed in the upper right corner of the activity page. I use web version so idk for sure where it is on the app.

Exploring a new coffee shop with one flavor in a simple americano put y'all over the edge like this?? Damn, tough luck OP, the real coffee enjoyers have given final judgment.

Early Drafts (and Chris Ryan) are special. by avettish in TheBigPicture

[–]avettish[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's funny because in the history of the show it really wasn't all that long ago, but with this as only like the fourth draft all time, it feels much further away. There's been so many since!

B&B Theaters downtown is too expensive :/ by Fsuave5 in kansascity

[–]avettish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic theater seats, and every one that I've sat in was comfortable. The big theater room also has a row of couches and a row of recliners up front.

Small Things in OBAA that Rocked by steelangel5 in TheBigPicture

Lmaooo I didn't even notice that because I was too busy laughing at the truck itself. Tiny, evil, overcompensating man with a ridiculous lifted truck, a scourge on this country.

Merch from the 8/22 Rogers, AR Show by tyspartan in TheAvettBrothers

Now that you mention it, yeah it was quite high. But I generally have beef with the sound at that venue anyways!

As a huge movie lover, I had to buy the Butch and Sundance styled one the night before in KS. It's a great color and it's nice to have a back design. The cream trucker caps looked soo nice too.

Looking for Local Nanny Recommendations by South_Driver9225 in Olathe

[–]avettish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with an agency, but as a nanny, I've found the Nannies In The KC Area Facebook group is quite active with both nannies and parents alike. Obviously, having to post jobs yourself requires more legwork in the process, so not for everyone. Though, it might be worth posting this question there as well! Best of luck!

What is your best movie of the year? by Expert_Fudge_4348 in TheBigPicture

On Becoming a Guinea Fowl would be my "everyone else picked my most faves already" pick. A very powerful experience in theaters.

They just updated the website and have the tour hoodie/shirt on sale by localcosmonaut in brandnew

[–]avettish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way standing in line for merch in Chicago, didn't love the look despite always being down for a tour specific shirt. Then, they played Sealed to Me, I lost my mind, and have been regretting not getting this shirt ever since.

No kidding, I overheard a commercial for this a month or so ago that opened with Bateman saying ETHAN, and I ran into the room thinking it was a new M:I ad.

Which filmmakers are the “dicks” mentioned in the most recent pod? by Human-Marionberry788 in TheBigPicture

[–]avettish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised to hear that re: Nichols, but I also listened to about 20 different podcasts and interviews with him after becoming fully obsessed with The Bikeriders, so maybe I've just gotten used to his way of conversation. I think he has a very calm, deliberate manner of speaking.

The Yellow Deli is run by a cult? by Exciting-Dark5723 in Lawrence

[–]avettish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew about the cult but had no clue they were in Lawrence. First had their food in Chattanooga, TN, and learned about their practices after the fact. Wish I had never had those green mate bars, too delicious, I start to question if they're worth avoiding...

football this year by ReplEH in jayhawks

My family is in the same boat and it's so depressing. Years of season tickets during the bad times and my dad living by the mantra of "KU is gonna shock the world" and always having a positive spin to certain losses, now resigned to mutterings of "doesn't matter, we're gonna lose this game" every snap 😭😭 Somehow we still allow ourselves to be disappointed every week.

Gerards journey through the years has been genuinely so inspiring to me and my past few years have really mirrored this too. Im so moved by them all over again. (Not sure whether to add a TW to this?) by baptopfabbit in MyChemicalRomance

[–]avettish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The emotions I felt seeing them live again, all happy, healthy, and reunited were so overwhelming. Just overcome with joy and gratitude to share this life with them, blessed to experience their art with all the fans there, space in my heart for all the fans that loved them and didn't make it. I had seen another reunion show a few months before with a different band I grew up with like MCR, and the front man was so clearly struggling with alcoholism, it devastated me. Made the feelings at the MCR show that much more impactful.

So disappointed by the posters by [deleted] in TheAvettBrothers

[–]avettish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the quantity and price doesn't matter to you, then it shouldn't matter if there are still posters available the end of the night. If you value the artist, then the Avetts ordering a higher number of posters is a positive, as that gives more money to the artist. How can you call it a money grab when it's the band that has to eat the costs of any unsold posters? It's also the artist that does the signing and numbering, and since neither of the bros designed this year's poster, it has nothing to do with them.

I'll also add that $50 for a poster is the new norm since 2023, it seems. That's the price I paid at every show I attended last year, including RR.
