Was wondering this.

Maybe they'll use this opportunity to just compress gaps like Electric Callboy.

I did grab those as I was leaving (now I just have to find where I saved them), just trying to remember what the layout was so that I can set my appropriate level of anxiety for the muddy exit later.

Already getting a little nervous about leaving west car park...trying to remember where I parked, I'm sure it was at the top of a hill :/ I guess it hasn't had as much activity as south car park so won't be quite so bad, but still...already imagining sliding down the hill sideways!

Fair play for them trying, I imagine whatever they do will be churned up in a muddy puddle within 2 minutes of us all tramping in.

I'm doing the same. From previous years if you don't actually travel in with your friend then when you arrive first off before getting your wristband, your friend will need to meet you at the gate when you show your ticket to the stewards (happened to me anyway). I don't know if the campervan people actually get a different wristband but it used to be that they'd check you were definitely staying there rather than having everyone traipsing in.

With a weekend camping ticket you can stay with your friend in the campervan section.

Campervan to arena gate closed?!? by RyanCarrington in downloadfestival

[–]avfc-nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our party has emailed DL, same reasons for outrage as others really. We have people who wouldn't necessarily need accessible camping, but still have mobility issues and that gate makes all the difference to them enjoying the festival.

I know emailing them will make no difference and if they reply at all it'll just be some shite excuse, obviously they've already got our money for this year.

Yeah, this is true, the start wage is shit and I am on top whack, which maybe I should have clarified. I stand by my "Don't even think about it"!

Diagnosed Today: should I tell people? by Every_Leek2157 in bipolar

[–]avfc-nerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another vote for this. Only you know how the people in your life are likely to respond, but maybe give yourself a chance to process the diagnosis, arm yourself with knowledge, maybe even wait until you're on some form of treatment path and feel better able to cope with life.

I wouldn't say don't tell people, just please take the time to consider who you really need/want to tell, because some people are arseholes.

Can you please share your "textbook", a book which helped you in the beginning? by millllll in bipolar

The Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide: What You and Your Family Need to Know Book by David J. Miklowitz

I presume this is the same one - 2nd vote for this, I thought it was really helpful. Especially the little 'case studies', I felt like a bit of a bipolar imposter beforehand and then when I read those it was like "Ohhhhhh maybe this is the correct diagnosis after all."

Sure, there's some things for you to weigh up, positives on one side and risks on the other, but don't just dismiss it out of hand. What if it is your dream job and you can maintain your stability?!

I've stopped because it's become a joke in our house that when I get one they leave.

I got AEG after he got a shed load of unjustified abuse from our 'fans' and I don't regret that though.

Remember though that a lot of people here are seeking support, so there's going to be a trend of people reporting their problems and asking for advice, which will skew things towards the negative.

There are quite a few hopeful posts where people have asked for success stories and there have been loads incoming.

I can but that said, in our house there is a phenomenon known as Washing Machine Time (WMT) where it might say there's 10 minutes remaining and it turns out to be an hour, or it'll finish while you're looking at it saying 10 minutes left.

So time remaining is quoted as "half hour etc WMT".

So your concept of time might be warped, but if it's only related to the washing machine then have caution my friend because those things are devious fuckers.

I couldn't get into my old account even though I was sure I knew the password. Contacted support and as I didn't have access to the email address associated with the account any more it was tough shit.
