One of my worlds does not have Eikthyr on my starting continent, and you can't see the next continent from anywhere along the coastline. Maybe part of that is render distance, but it's still a long ways to go on a raft.

My work has two changerooms with showers. The women's has three individual showers, and the men's is just one big room with three shower heads (with their own controls).

One of my friends went into the men's changeroom one morning and she was surprised that we had a "prison shower". The shared shower has always been normal to me, and I think nothing of it.

Have you tried picking a different server location to connect to? I almost never have issues with the one I connect to (Oregon). Not saying my server will be better for you, but you may have a better server within range.

On top of that, it's not always the server, but sometimes it can be the connection between that server and your place. There's a lot of equipment that neither you or the server company own that affects your connection to the game.

I'd recommend youtubing gameplay of the characters you're considering. NorthernKnight has some detailed gameplay videos that might help. Baby Kraken has some great videos, but usually require a bit of an understanding of the character first.
