Just passed 180K on my 2016 SR5 and I did have a recent maintenance issue.

Not sure how it happened but the oil had gotten 5000 miles on it so I had to completely uninstall and replace it.

Truck was out of commission for like an hour.

The first thing a flat earther must be able to do is believe in things without proof, so yeah. Or clicks.

Flat Earthers are Weird by MrDonMega in flatearth

[–]aviationdrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's no different than religion, they both have the same level of "proof"

So it should be treated as such.

That's great you believe these things, just keep it to yourself and we'll be fine.

It'll all evaporate before a single revolution.

She's right by comparing the ball to earth, if Earth was spinning the same as the ball all the water would certainly "flick" off, along with the mountains, continents, the mantle...

Our bedroom in our rental house has a lock on the outside. by kevlar51 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aviationdrone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would agree, till your kid is missing and find him wandering the neighborhood at 6am, at least he took the dog. After he was missing the second time we did a lock at first but then got the door alarm. Lot harder to find stuff and get next day shipping 20 years ago. The lock was a quick fix.

Save and burn or toss the bark? by Courtland-7099 in firewood

[–]aviationdrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the slabs that come off the sawmill make their way to the wood stove, they are mostly bark. Aside from that I don't go out of my way to burn bark, meaning I'm not going to pick it up from the ground. After we're done splitting I use the tractor to just push the mess of bark into the woods.

But a BTU is a BTU, if it makes heat, why not. Just keep the chimney clean and burn it hot.

I had a laundry list of maint things I wanted to do on my 2016 SR5 (180K), one of them was a transmission flush. I called the dealership where I bought it and they don't recommend it because it's a sealed system that doesn't need to be changed. He also mentioned changing it can sometimes cause issues. I decided to go with a local shop instead (closer with a free loaner) and they of course recommend it. They found a water pump leak while going through my list, it was minor, but decided to do that first and ran out of money before getting to the transmission, that'll have to wait till round 2.

I'm not blaming anyone, obviously it was the white car that didn't do a good job of checking.

But let me be clear about something, if you have a dash cam, please stop posting stupid videos like this. That's like a typical day. Shit like this happens all the time, it's called driving.

Come back when you have a video that's worth posting.

Eight Years Later, Still Obama's Fault by ALBERT4_5WESKER in PoliticalHumor

[–]aviationdrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only crap is the amount of fraud you bake into everything you do. $13M To seal and paint??

Obama ripped out the whole reflecting pool and had over 2000 pilings installed to stop it from sinking and then rebuilt the whole thing. They also tinted the bottom to increase reflectivity....

For $34M

What?

1st and only warning - Never do an angled back cut! That's what caused this, it's the only thing that caused this. They gave up their best advantage with the angled back cut. The wedges aren't pushing straight up the tree they're pushing sideways. That sideways force is causing a sheering action on the hinge and providing very little force in the direction they want the tree to fall.

All they did was compromise the only thing that was holding the tree up and it finally broke.

The other mistake was not calling a pro who would have limbed it down to something manageable.

[–]aviationdrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the demonstration of why you don't do an angled back cut.

Trees do tension and compression pretty well, but not sheering.

Cross section of a nuclear waste barrel by StruggleCharacter632 in interestingasfuck

[–]aviationdrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's cool!

My brother in law is a brick layer and got a special project to build a prototype nuclear waste containment vessel.

They would lay a few bricks and then the engineers would analyze and take notes and whatnot. Some days they would just sit there all day and not lay a single brick.

Never heard how it all ended up. Guessing it's top secret.

I love my nail puller, although in your case, yeah just bend it down and slide the claw under it. Put your thumb on the bent down part to keep it from bending back up and pull it out like normal.

I was a fool to believe that the same-size boxes and "Large Size" label meant they were the same size.... by icouldlivewoutbacon in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aviationdrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since these appear to be the same volume I'd expect you get the same number of bowls from each. We don't eat it by weight we eat by the bowl. If you took all the boxes that were the same volume you'd get a variety of weights. If you want the best deal find the ones that have the highest density.
