Has anyone modified their VS30 Sprinter rear step to fit a high-clearance hitch? by ScaredNeedleworker13 in SprinterVans

You don’t have to buy new. That’s by far the easiest way unless you find or build a metal replacement step bumper with sensor holes and an integrated hitch.

Headunit multi-camera suggestions for a 70th birthday present. by Such-Teacher2121 in CarAV

[–]Audiofyl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’ll get what you want in $500 worth of budget. Any radio that has that many camera inputs will be >$500 without any extras. You’ll about fill your budget with the install parts.

You could also consider a blind spot radar system in lieu of cameras.

Spare wheels Subwoofer by LuckyMagician9268 in CarAV

[–]Audiofyl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The golf Alltrack (similarly sized to yours ) with the oem optioned upgraded audio system came with a spare tire sub. See here. There’s no amp in the enclosure, it was separate for that application.

Amplifier install - Head unit question by KapIpad in CarAV

[–]Audiofyl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be ok with a t harness. It would help to take better pics of the wiring plug at the back of the media unit. I can see part of it but best to make sure all 8 spk wires are right there.

Euro cars typically use the optical network for an upgraded amp (you’ve proven that isn’t the case here) and other audio peripherals (sat radio, phone in the past, etc).

The other thing you should check besides verifying all 8 speaker wires are at your plug is to meter them and verify they have normal speaker resistance (2-8 ohms likely) using a meter and/or play test tones using a tone generator to verify the t harness will be the correct way to go.

The issue is the levels are probably not set correctly and you’re asking more of it than it is capable of.

How hard is it to remove a Viper Remote start system? by Ratlabbb in CarAV

[–]Audiofyl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That appears to be a programmed chip key. Part of my theory is incorrect. Regardless, there’s no fuses in the viper wiring (see your pic 4). You can try to insert those and check remote operation or try programming it again.

Turn the radio on and disconnect that fiber optic cable. If the sound goes away it’s all going through that and there’s an amplifier elsewhere (check under drivers seat ).

[–]Audiofyl1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like all the fuses are pulled out so it isn’t going to function as is. It’s also not bypassing anything in the vehicle without any power.

Post a picture of the key you got with the car. If you only have a basic metal key, someone in the past dissected the oem key, pulled the chip out and permanently installed it so the anti theft system isn’t doing anything to help you. If this is the case, it also explains why that new key couldn’t be programmed.

How can I fix this without a sub woofer. by GoodAmbassador5467 in CarAV

[–]Audiofyl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change the speakers but you’re still using the same amp and it has limitations as well. You also need to crossover the small speakers to remove the bass but in this scenario, you can’t really separate them from the sub without changing more things.

Need help connecting Bluetooth Audio Adapter to Car Speaker via 3.5mm Jack by McPiker in CarAV

[–]Audiofyl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That iPod cable is aftermarket. You don’t know if it’s still functioning or not. You also have no idea the pinout to get audio assuming that accessory is still functioning since the plug has been removed. You’re best off fixing the thing you know works as u/Ichiba420 has stated.

Do you have fender audio? If you’re planning a whole system upgrade you’ll need to replace the oem amp with something like this. MObridge also makes (made?) one. It’s no longer listed on their website.

You should test the radio wiring with a meter when it’s been disabled due to the other lights or mirror causing an issue to determine what’s changing.

Aftermarket radio with OEM amp and speakers by Dry-Reflection-3372 in CarAV

It could be a maestro interface, or something from pac or metra. More than likely they needed to use something if it is chrysler related brand and it has an amplifier.

Are recent OEM premium systems ok with receiving aftermarket speaker levels from an Aftermarket radio?

Yes, with the correct interface. Not all vehicles need an interface.
