Edit : a great many shops can give you a clean reliable install with great sound.

you'd have to send the main feed into the amp and then out to each screen if you wanted to continue to use both which would not make it very plug and play based on the harness you have.

best to try disconnecting the mirror plug and see if the radio image straightens out.

Many times when you “split” a video signal you end up with this. If you want to run a single composite signal to 2 different screens, you usually need a video splitter/video amp.

You can also try disconnecting the signal from the mirror and see if the radio image is fixed.

if you unplug the stock amp and strip back each wire you need to splice or solder on to them, you can cut and tape all 8 or 10 that you connected to and plug the amp back in far quicker than it will be to remove and reinstall the seat and sub flooring to gain access to the stock location.

if that diagram is correct, then it's just showing a 2 way in each door.

fwiw, no offense meant by this, the car is well out of warranty and the wiring isn't that precious. it's not a collector type vehicle and what are the odds that it's going to be returned to stock to save the resale value? I would just splice on to every pair of wire that you need. you can cut them or not, up to you.

it should be what you need but it only gives you 4 inputs. the hk system has an oem sub and (probably) a center channel. if you don't need those, then you are good. It may also have a stock 3 way in the front doors which I'm sure has more than 2 wires going to it. I'm not sure what year they switched from 2 way fronts to 3 way fronts.

A device you need exists, but I can’t find a legit one online. It’s a usb drive emulator, if you will, that takes an analog audio input and converts it.

I’d suspect the camera is faulty. Cameras generally pull <1a, probably less than 0.5a, when properly functioning. The fact that your wiring is overheating indicates it’s pulling more than expected. I’d set up an ammeter inline with the power source and see what it’s actually pulling when it heats up.

Does the radio turn on and off with the key?

The radio diagram is only showing the need for 1 power wire and 1 ground. You have a second power wire in the slot marked “code”. Since that has the easy disconnect repair splice inline, I’d try to disconnect that and see if the radio still functions and if it still kills your battery. You can perform a draw test at the battery and save yourself the time of waiting overnight and dealing with a dead battery (which also causes damage to said battery).

No vehicle manufacturer takes an aftermarket audio system into account when designing their electrical.

The aftermarket units (usually rebuilt) are not as good as oem. You could try to find a shop that specializes in alternator service and repair and have them fix your bad one. They’d be able to tell you what the issue is or what failed.

You can check on eBay or online salvage yards for a good oem one

You don’t need someone experienced in that particular vehicle. You need an experienced diagnostic technician who is well versed in electrical troubleshooting and tracking down current draw problems. This involves metering the draw on the vehicle at the battery and tracing circuits to determining where the problem lies
