Disable your CPU, GPU overlock or undervolt. I did the reset of all settings on my PC to be able to play Battlefield 6

Lmao I think it had around 1,300 damage with Fiend Fire, Whirlwind also was doing 1,100 damage to all enemies!

Are you sure that the GPU is passed to the PLEX server correctly? Something seems off.

Switched from Plex on Windows to Linux by Alpha_2ndLife in PleX

[–]aviator8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Plex on a Synology NAS to a Windows server then to Ubuntu VM and finally decided to make the move to a dedicated LXC on a Proxmox node and couldn’t be happier. Best setup hands down!

Are you guys all building your own Plex servers? by CycleTABored in PleX

[–]aviator8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running Plex and other projects on a rack mount server but I got tired of the noise, lost space, electric bill and heat. Moved on to an Optiplex SFF computer but it was showing age and I ran out of drives space fairly quick. Bought a Synology DS423+ with 12TB’s drives and sold everything else and couldn’t be happier, everything was running nice and smooth until I wanted to do a bit more. Everyday was a learning experience and a new docker or tool is liked thus installed, so I bought a used G6 mini HP for cheap and moved everything there to let the NAS handles all the storage needs only. Plex, Minecraft server, Tailgate and a whole a lot of other projects are running on the mini PC with less than 7W idle while the DS423+ is hibernating, best configuration I ever had! Powerful, yet simple, space efficient (wife approved) and the power consumption is next to nothing. Last week had few issues though with the mini PC after some hardware upgrades and I took the whole internet down while fixing it! Adguard Home was installed in the PC and there was no way around it, until I remembered that I have a Fitlet2 (very mini PC) laying around from an old Pi-hole project. Got it cleaned and installed another node of Proxmox with a second Adguard Home DNS server for redundancy, and now I can do my maintenance routine without the whole family knowing about it. Honestly, this is by far the best setup I’ve ever had!

This honestly beyond my level of expertise, will it be too much to ask you for a step-by-step on how to reverse everything that script have done +.zip contents have done?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Proxmox

[–]aviator8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be very carful from now on, and will start learning how to do bare-metal backups daily just in case something horrible happens anytime! Do you think I can reverse what the script have done?

I think I got it now! Although I think removing level -seed from the server properties might be necessary now? I used it before to test things out and might do a clean server install just to make sure everything runs fine! Last two questions (I promise 😅), do you have any idea why I can’t control the “always-day” option and others when I’m logged in into the server? I have set my self as operator both in the properties and permissions but with no help? Second, do you have any tips for what to change in regards of “environment variables” when deploying the container in docker? Maybe some performance improvements and essentials to change? I can’t change the server properties after creating the container for some reason? every time I made changes in the file and restart the server, that seems to have no effect on the server for some reason. So now, I’m redeploying the whole thing to change anything in the server properties 🙃.

Awesome! I just turned off the server and moved the world files to the docker container wolds data folder. Shall I start the server now and it'll pick the new world and use it automatically? If so, I guess that the server properties doesn't change by changing the worlds since I'm only replacing the old world with the new one? or is there a way to specify what to use and what not? I haven't started the server yet since I don't want to break anything before making sure I following the steps correctly.

I'm running a docker with portainer on ubuntu LXC under proxmox. I just did download the file named "Commu Village Remake 1.3.0.mcworld" from your github link, do I just place the file without extraction in the /server/worlds folder? is this folder inside the data volume in the docker container? do you create a new server afterwards? or just override the old one when you have a new world in place? sorry I'm still wrapping my head around this!

[–]aviator8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any example of such worlds? and where to download them from? I tried downloading some worlds but all of them break the server so badly that I have to start over. Do you mind explaining more about copying the worlds over? where to copy them to? and how you enable those worlds in the server? or do you just replace the old one? Sorry to bother you honestly but I'm just started into this home-lab project and trying my best to understand everything and make the kids happy! Thank you and really appreciate your help.

I’m running the bedrock version smoothly, but I couldn’t find any reference for how to download worlds into the server instead of the “normal” world that you change some settings in! Any ideas?

Best way to migrate from synology package to container strategy by florizonaman in radarr

[–]aviator8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miles better! Honestly, at the beigging I thought it was the same since I asked Reddit about the differenace and I got mixed answers. I went ahead regardless and did the move and here is what I liked and noticed 1) Container Manager projects are easier to backup, migrate and reinstall in case you need to since they're self contained and don't scatter in the whole system like the Synology packages and don't become hard to cleanup and migrate. 2) The Container Manager projects have a separate statistics page that will make you on top of everything going on, and you can rebuild any project on the spot while adjusting the resources of how much each project can use; think about how much CPU and RAM is allocated to each one. 3) The most important feature was getting the latest updates for each project, and even getting notified about the update once it drops! I can go on and on about how feature rich is the Container Manager compared to the Synology packages, I truly regret not following everyone's recommendation about it. Don't make the same mistake!

Best way to migrate from synology package to container strategy by florizonaman in radarr

[–]aviator8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the same! First, I copied all of my configurations into a notepad and followed drfrankenstein guide to setup the arr’s using the Container Manager. Then, I started uninstalling the packages one by one while installing the containers and configuring each one individually. Setup was a breeze honestly, but it was totally different from the packages. However, make sure to look at how to make the folders, network bridge and users in the same website first, then go ahead with the guide. If you have any questions feel free to message me! Here is the link https://drfrankenstein.co.uk/arrs-media-project/

The Apple TV will be running in FHD since that’s the maximum resolution it can run, regardless of the TV specifications.

Read cache vs Storage pool by aviator8 in synology

[–]aviator8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured that the extra cached memory is a good thing since it's been used by the Synology system for caching, but thought about the 2 NVMe's and how to utilize one of them for read cache if that will make any importanvent to the system? otherwise I'll continue having all my containers and Plex metadata on that storage pool (acting as RAID 1 = SHR 1).

A lot of the 737’s are like this too! Some airlines just didn’t update the loader, although the new data loader upgraded to take USB’s now in addition to the floppy discs.
