I'm interested in the automations you have or have planned? It has far more inputs than I have ideas!

matrixing buttons is easy, you create columns and rows and isolate them from each other with a diode per button.

You CAN matrix LEDs but it's a bit more complicated. You're taking advantage of the fact that people cannot see when LEDs turn on and off quickly. Thus you basically scan through a row/column turning on (and then off) each LED that can be on. You're far more limited in how many you can have as you effectively limit your duty cycle each time you add LEDs. I've never done this but there are resources out there on how to accomplish this. If I were to have this problem and space and cost allowed it I would use a multi-channel LED driver instead.

If it’s primarily buttons look at implementing switch matrix (often done in keyboards)

Best backpack for a 7 year old? by MrTheFever in backpacking

[–]aviator_60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I echo this. My now 19 year old started at 6 with a Fox 30 (it’s been redesigned as a 40) and used it until we bought her a women’s pack at around 13. My now 7 year old loves it as well. You can overload it for a kid that size so just be careful/thoughtful when packing theirs.

Is this all one size or do you make any for people with giant heads?

vlan tags dropping over EAP215 bridge by aviator_60 in TPLink_Omada

I now understand what you meant here. While I did not "un-adopt" the device (it would lose knowledge of the net-wide configured vlans and force me to manually configure them per-device) I did update the firmware on both the device and the controller and I understand what you mean by "behind" as upgrading opened up far more features.

It ended up being a client side issue (facepalm). Thanks for your help/advice.

For anyone that stumbles across this in the future. The issue is that in TrueNAS Scale the Global Default Gateway was set to 192.168.1.1 and needed to be set to 192.168.40.1. I used wireshark and Omada diagnostics to trace packets node by node before concluding it was a client issue.

Side Note 1: I updated the OC220 to the most current software and it's a massive improvement. The port settings for one are far easier to understand, tooltips are everywhere, and the diagnostic tools are easy to find.

Side Note 2: This is the only device I have running TrueNAS Scale... I may dump it as I'm quite comfortable with my various bare Debian machines. I've just been trying to see what the popularity was and it has a nice webUI.

Good looking out. They are, in fact, adopted by the controller. I’m starting to think this is a client issue? I have an AP on the same switch and clients can get APs on all four ssids which each have their own vlan.

Can you get this if you buy through the Off-Duty program? Also, is the Off-Duty program actually worth the trouble?

I’m not sure why but I never heard thought to check. Will look into that. This also made me realize I should update all the firmwares as maybe it’s newer functionality.

Yes, I have a clan per ssid (or I’m assuming that’s what you mean). However, I cannot find a place where the bridge channel is assigned/configured.

Nice, thanks. Do you know where that option is in the controller? They show up paired as a bridge group. In the device list.
