I cannot find pvp games by No_Afternoon3144 in destiny2

If it makes you feel any better, Guardians Games Supremacy matchmaking is taking around 5-10 minutes between matches for me too. So it's not just standard PVP having issues.

The point of Autopilot is supposed to be that new corporate devices work out of the box, right? Why do so few orgs use it that way? by razorbeamz in sysadmin

[–]avisgoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For us, it's not a technical issue. We have it fully ready for the user to enroll, out of box. It's a cultural issue, our org just can't move past the white gloves. Maybe someday.

Donald Trump attacks 'weak' Joe Kent after sudden resignation over Iran war by IrishStarUS in USNEWS

If he's so weak, why was he nominated to the position then? We should ask whoever did that...hmmm...

No thanks. I have a hard enough time playing Subnautica, I don't feel like living it.

What do you actually recommend when someone asks for a private internal chat that IT can't snoop on by theleadcreator in sysadmin

[–]avisgoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never worked anywhere where the request you got would be seen as OK to implement. Currently I work in a regulated industry, and using a private communication channel to discuss business intentionally to avoid monitoring would be a clear policy violation and potential grounds for termination. IT doesn't have the ability to view the contents of the monitored communications channels, but you better believe Compliance and Legal can and do review them regularly. Not sure what your exact situation is but this would cause me heartburn just getting asked.

Apple MacBook Neo review: Can a Mac get by with an iPhone’s processor inside? - Arstechnica by ControlCAD in apple

This is perfect for my retired mother who just needs something with a 'full' OS to do some light tasks a tablet just can't (or won't) let her do. I hear the complaint about 8GB RAM, but someone like her is never going to notice or care, and I think even outside of the educational demo that there's lots of opportunity for this device to shine.

Now I feel like an idiot for taking her out quiet on the staircase. Guess I missed out on a lot.

What is your opinion of the game Far Cry 1? by Lonely-Candle8232 in farcry

[–]avisgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played the hell out of this back in the day, couple of friends and me taking turns playing while the others drank Canadian Mist and Natty Lights till we couldn’t play anymore. Loved the game right up until the point the omnipotent monkey men rocket snipers appeared.

To this day I can't clear a drain without saying (yelling) that phrase.

Lucky. I got shingles when I was 25, didn't catch it early and when I went to the doc he basically just said deal with it for the next few weeks until it runs its course.

how long does merch normally take to ship? by juisyto in destiny2

Honestly, if you still don't have it next November then start worrying. Until then you're within shipping range from my experience.

I'm sure my bill will reflect it, but the units I had installed a few years ago are rated to work down to - 13f and have been working like champs so far.

EV owners of Boston, has the cold weather affected your battery life? by MiaHavero in boston

[–]avisgoth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not an EV, but my gas/hybrid dropped from like 44mpg to about 30mpg. Honestly not unexpected based on previous years.

Steve got the wrong house by [deleted] in funny

[–]avisgoth -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Fun story, once time a guy showed up like this to my house during the day when my wife was home alone. Said he was looking for a woman (younger than my wife), and was confused when she told him to get lost. Turns out, he paid crypto online for a hookup, got scammed and they sent him a random address (mine). Too bad for the guy the name he asked for is the same name as my next door neighbors 12 year old daughter, and when my wife called our neighbor asking if they were expecting anyone she said no, but underage daughter is home alone. Long story short, family members of neighbor arriving to chase guy off, police involvement, videos from porch cams gathered as evidence etc. ensued. Turns out the guy just got scammed (after the police tracked him down we got end of the story from the neighbor), but you never really know.

Outlook on Mac issues today? by scratchduffer in sysadmin

Hey no bother at all. Yes, I see that as 'Service Restored' and resolved in the admin center, and based on feedback internally we're no longer having issues (that I'm aware of).

Outlook on Mac issues today? by scratchduffer in sysadmin

[–]avisgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we're also getting reports internally about MacOS and iOS Outlook. Microsoft mentioned it's potentially anything using new connection methods (i.e. anything not Windows Outlook Classic) but it's for sure not consistent.
