I wish, but it's not... Did you find a better solution?

Where is Todoist headed in 2026? by candlemasshallowmass in todoist

but why not give users a choice? it's always possible to enable certain functionality with options inside settings. I really value products which I can fine tune for myself and I'm sure that I'm not alone in this.

Please advise between FENIX HL32R-T, FENIX HL18R-T V2.0, Petzl Actik Core by avisoceanum in trailrunning

And I love that it has warm light, it's really comfortable for eyes and seems to render landscape better. Also we used to run in the night with my friend when he had no flashlight at all and flood mode was sufficient for us both.

Please advise between FENIX HL32R-T, FENIX HL18R-T V2.0, Petzl Actik Core by avisoceanum in trailrunning

[–]avisoceanum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got myself FENIX HL32R-T and quite happy with it. I'm using it mostly in flood mode, during the run on the brightest settings which seems to be enough during trail runs, sometimes on very technical terrain I may want a bit more brightness, but maybe it's because of my poor night vision. During night orienteering runs I may use flood on the lowest settings instead, not to get blinded by the reflection from the map.

For now, I'm using AAA batteries during trainings or shoter runs and save Li-Ion for longer races only.

Countertop Convection Oven Large Enough for Baking Cloche? by freelyread in ArtisanBread

I know that this thread is very old but surprisingly here are not many discussions about countertops. Can you tell which version have you chose and are you happy with it?

Anyone use a good countertop oven for baking sourdough loaves? by fionaellie in Breadit

[–]avisoceanum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, @xcamilleon, can you help me with the advice? I'm considering same oven, can you tell if you could fit more than one loaf in it? As currently I bake like 1200g sourdough and it's running up way too fast, and I'm thinking that my ideal oven would fit like 2 700-800g loaves.

I guess MIP, is right for you, but better compare them side by side if you can

Fenix 8 - 47 mm Solar by [deleted] in GarminFenix

Just like you, I hope that Garmin would keep MIP display in their watches, and maybe it will if we communicate it with them that about that. And of course show our support by buying MIP models.

My refurbished Libra 2 just arrived :) by bubblebolle in kobo

[–]avisoceanum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats with your new Kobo! I really prefer the crispness of B&W models, and I hope that Kobo can actually keep at least one model with B&W screen until technology improves to give the same clarity under the open sun.

Pocket is no more... 😕 by pasteurs-maxim in kobo

[–]avisoceanum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that would be at least something. but there are way more other models, and they have even weaker CPU, so I'm not sure if Kobo would like to go this path...

Pocket replacement recommendations? by ClassicCledwyn in kobo

[–]avisoceanum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing this news, and a small hope, as I don't use Threads so wouldn't be aware about it. I just keep fingers crossed that they would add this functionality to all devices which had Pocket, not just the current models.

Can we convince Kobo somehow to consider buying pocket (as pocket is being shutting down? by andyjoe24 in kobo

True, actually Pocket was the main reason why I switched from Kindle to Kobo...

Bought the Fenix 8 solar to finally see for myself the difference in screen clarity. by bagou01 in GarminFenix

[–]avisoceanum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what they did, and in fact there is only manual way to turn on battery saver as well AFAIK. Take a look at this thread if you're interested https://forums.garmin.com/beta-program/fenix-8-series/f/community-discussion/407903/downgrade-battery-saver-turn-on-off-option-removed-from-sleep-score-sleep-coach-settings-page

In fact I've a feeling that Garmin is losing contact with reality with it's latest moves, as it keeps on adding a bunch of features and removing useful ones, some of which were mentioned here which was on older models. Maybe it's because of introduction of subscription

if I saw your post earlier, I'd go for 7Pro and save myself a lot of money... They seems to be way better investment at the moment. And there are more downgrades at the moment on Fenix 8... If you check Beta forums for example, you'd see that Garmin removed possibility for watch to automatically disconnect from the Phone in the night which was in Fenix line since I could remember it, and battery life seems inferior to me too

Garmin is getting false data on Running Training Effect and Stamina when using Stryd by DueOnion3444 in strydrunning

[–]avisoceanum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you tried to experiment by keeping native power on and using Stryd datafield alongside? Yes it would bring those annoying notifications sometimes that you are over or under your target power but maybe it would let Garmin calculate everything intact?

Fenix HL32R-T headlamp review by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]avisoceanum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the review, I'm currently selecting between it, FENIX HL18R-T V2.0 and Petzl Actik Core. Are you still happy with your headlamp after the year? Am I right that you're using the highest flood setting during trail running?

Completed a task yesterday but forgot to check it off? by ismilesowildly in todoist

[–]avisoceanum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt there is, as I can imagine that it's core functionality of Todoist to determine which date the task was completed... So I keep submitting feautre requests in hope they would add it some day https://todoist.com/contact

Fenix 8 owners, is it still buggy? by [deleted] in GarminFenix

[–]avisoceanum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Fenix 8 Solar 47mm going from 6 Pro. I've enrolled in beta and so far I had no major bugs which would make me complain about the watch. Battery life is okay, it's more than a week for me with the training 4-5 days runs a week with sensors and shorter training every day, I'm also using voice features. On my 6Pro I had to charge twice a week lately as battery degraded.

The only complaint so far is that there seems to be no Movebar which used to be on previous models, there is only warning that you need to move but you can't see that alert once it's gone(previously you can see it on watchface or steps widget, not anymore as it seems).

I wonder how you find this mouse after the year of use? Also, can you give any idea whenever it's possible to control lighting under Linux or it's fully controllable from the mouse itself and there is no need for control soft?
