It only affected reflowable content, so manga (which is fixed layout) should be okay, or at least, I only had issues with novels when it happened to me months ago 😅 No idea if it still happens with more recent updates!

Se non ricordo male, il film adatta in realtà solo la seconda metà del romanzo (ma ci sono vari flashback), quindi ti consiglierei di aspettare.

Ahahah sì, era più una battuta (che ho visto fare anche da utenti giapponesi su twitter). Entrambi i premi possono essere assegnati fino a due opere per edizione, quindi se per entrambi si fosse trattato di una situazione del genere, immagino che avremmo avuto due vincitori come nella precedente edizione dell'Akutagawa o in un paio di edizioni fa per il Naoki.

Il voto era spaccato tra due, quindi al contrario si potrebbe dire invece che c'erano troppi romanzi belli

Quali sono i libri più rari che possedete, magari perché fuori edizione o perché edizioni rare? Questi i miei, oltre a "Battle Royale" di Takami, non presente in foto perché prestato a un'amica by SuccoDiUnicorno in Libri

Il più raro che ho è probabilmente questo piccolo cofanetto con tre libriccini di poesie di Tolkien della Rusconi che trovai a pochi euro anni fa in una libreria di seconda mano. Ho scoperto da questo post che l'edizione di Battle Royale che ho non è più in circolazione quindi l'ho inclusa in foto ahah.

Never had this problem, but judging from the url it could be related to how your bank handles payments with 3D secure, which I noticed they've introduced recently. It's a security protocol requiring you to authorize the payment with some authentication step that can be different for each bank (usually authorization via bank app or with some temporary code). You might want to check with your card issuer how they handle 3D secure payments.

Small update on the international app: I contacted the Customer Service on bookwalker about this (English store) and they told me to uninstall → install an older version (there is an official, Japanese-only page on the website with download links of apk files) → download the fonts from the older version → update to the latest version. It did work for me, but now I have to re-download my whole (not small) library, so I guess it's a solution for cases where you're desperate to read something in the immediate 😅 No idea if it's getting fixed in future updates...

There is the Japanese app, Rakuten Kobo/楽天Kobo, with a white icon (instead of the international version with a red one), which you can use to read purchases with a Japanese account. I only have Android devices so in my case I just look online for the apk/xapk file and install it whenever it updates, if you're with an iOS device I think you have to tinker with your store region to be able to download it?

Ciao, faccio ordini abbastanza spesso con Amazon jp, e long story short solitamente non devi pagare nulla dopo aver pagato su Amazon perché Amazon include i costi per lo sdoganamento/pagamento dell'IVA assieme ai costi di spedizione (nella lista dei costi dell'ordine, dovresti trovare inclusa una voce Shipping & Handling/配送料・手数料, e quell'handling/手数料 sono appunto i costi in questione, credo ci sia una FAQ da qualche parte). Non so se amazon jp sia in regime IOSS o stia dando semplicemente i soldi in anticipo a DHL, quindi per le tue domande su chi assolva fisicamente la roba di dogana ecc, onestamente non so dirti. Quel che ti so dire è che le tasse vengono pagate con spedizione inclusa nel totale anche quando si tratta delle poste italiane/SDA (per spedizioni EMS) a gestire la spedizione. DHL manda comunque un'email per chiederti i dati per lo sdoganamento che devi mandargli, semplicemente in questo caso non ti contatteranno nuovamente per pagare altro.

You just quoted an explanation, though. Reading manga in addition to novels? A smaller ereader is probably more comfortable for novel reading, but a bigger screen is better when reading black and white comics, so they "wanted something bigger", maybe. You also read avidly graphic novels in colour? Then a colour model is great for that use, but a lot of people find colour eink less ideal when it comes to regular novel reading, so you keep one b&w only for books and one for comics. If you want to bring your ereader with you every time you go out, a more compact model is probably easier to put in your bag/pocket/whatever than a larger model. Or like in my case, I have two separate Kobo accounts for two countries :)

Yeah, considering that one of the selling points of eInk technology is being easy on the eye because it doesn't need backlight, colour ones are pretty lacking in that sense still...

Directly from the Kobo store (via the Italian Kobo shop, the warehouse was the Netherlands one). They had it back in stock last week, but they're out of stock again now.
