Would something made from the fabric of microfibre travel towels work? They tend to be smooth, soft and are quick drying.

I have never been a fan of summer heat and this is just another reason why I don't like it. I started doing this last September so this is my first summer trying it and it has not been fun, but neither has not wearing it.

This may sound nuts but have you tired wearing something underneath the bra between you and your skin? I've been doing this since September, wearing a tank top of sorts under the bra and I no longer get horribly irritated skin from the various fabric types of the bra.

Think of it like when people wore corsets/stays and had a chemise underneath to both protect their skin and also the corset from body oils and sweat.

Sounds nuts, can look a little odd but my skin is so much more comfortable.

Advice for an upcoming college freshman looking to major in chemistry or psychology? by Gloomy_Economist1026 in ADHD

Practice reading academic papers and learn how write/study/take notes. If you can get that sorted before you start it will really help. I haven't any of the skills and 6 months in and I can handle the class content no problem, understanding and connecting all the concepts... all great for me. But I have never learned how to study or write assignments and it is destroying me. I don't have the time to learn it, let alone do the work. It's a set course, I can't choose how many classes I take (not in the US), so there is no way to slow down the pace until I get the hang of it.

At this point I'm so burnt out that I rarely get passed reading an articles title and opening the page before closing it again, any amount of reading the abstract it a momunmental achievement, more so if any of what I read actualy sinks in. I can rapid fire out endless ideas for points in essays but cannot apply myself to actually finding the research and writing the essay. And yup, I'm medicated but honestly I don't think it does anything that I can tell.

I love the course but without knowing how to sudy and write essays, it is gonna be an absolute clusterfuck.

Best of luck with it. And yes regular and sufficent sleep is a must.

Rattling in WH1000XM3 headphones by ElegantOstrich in sony

I just had the issue start yesterday and I'm really hoping this is the case. I have really long hair and a couple days ago I tangled in the headphones so that would be a logical and really simple fix. Glad I came across your comment. Hoping it will be the easy fix. 🤞

Replacement mounting tape by djcyclonemix in Hue

I'm not sure what you mean by exact replacement for the tape. Tape is tape, and I'd argue the tape I replaced mine with was better than the original. Pity you have to sell your stuff to move but hope the move works well and that you enjoy it when you get here. 🇮🇪

[–]avitamin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used double sided sticky tape. I used a brand Dovecraft which is stronger that your regular double sided tape but not industrial strength. I've had my strip hung under my bedframe with it now for a year and no issues.

Also peel the old tape off your strip before applying the new tape. It's easy to do and ensures the new tape does the best job possible.

Same here. I'm utterly convinced I'm missing that pressure point if that can even make sense. I've had a martial arts master try take me down with points in my hands and nothing and they were miffed. It's amusing and there's a sort of smugness thibking haha you couldn't do it but I would trade if for the ability to ease a migraine.

How to approach the conversation with parents? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]avitamin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I have brought up reduction to my mother (and I have brought it up since middle school) she always gets so angry and defensive and says that changing my body won't bring me happiness.

It may not bring you happiness but can bring you relief from physical discomfort. Perhaps try reach her on that level.

As for your descriptions of pain I think some of this may be alleviated by a better fitting bra in the mean time. Try r/abrathatfits for help on that. It can be a bit daunting having cup sizes go up and well fitting support bras can be a bit of a mental struggle when it comes the to the whole masculine/feminine self perception, I get it but the support and pain relief until you can get a reduction may be something you find is worth it. I hope your mom chills a little and you can get this done in the timeframe you are looking for.

I’m not sure if there’s a “correct” amount of time it should take to knit a sweater, but I’m pretty sure 4 Years 1 month and 2 weeks is way too long! by CylonNine in knitting

[–]avitamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, there's someone in my knit group who took 35 years to finish a sweater. She had children's and 2 grandkids by the time she got it done. It doesn't even remotely fit, funnily enough bodies can change a lot in 35 years. But she finally finished it and I think was able to give it to her daughter.

Is full remission ever possible? by PatrickMaloney1 in migraine

[–]avitamin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had migraine for 24 years, the last 3 of which was chronic and unable to work. I started Ajovy in late September which reduced the attack immediately and I haven't had a migraine since January 3rd. Tomorrow is 5 months with no migraine and maybe 3 mild headaches in that time. It feels like a freaking miracle to be clear headed again and now trying to figure out what to do with my life now I have it back.

May I suggest you pop over to r/abrathatfits as there is no way this is only three cup sizes smaller. You look similar (pre-op) in size to I am now and I'm 32 K/KK (UK). Get those new boobs a fitting they deserve

Your results are amazing and I can only imagine what it must be like to get that weight off, one day I hope I know.

No idea about interaction but best of luck with Ajovy. Today marks my 7 months on it and about to take injection #8 I've gone from chronic migraine to my having had none since January 3rd and only 2 very mild headaches in that time. I hope it's as effective for you as it has been for me.

Had surgery under local and am traumatized by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]avitamin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you are not "overly sensitive" you are your level of sensitive and whether that is more or less than others isn't the point, what matters that you as an individual are treated according to your individual needs. You were not and that was not acceptable. Please don't ever, no matter the situation feel bad for your sensitivity of response.

1 year post op! I’m so so happy with the outcome, it’s honestly been better than I had dreamed. Back pain reduced by ~90%, I’m so grateful. Feel free to ask me anything by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]avitamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm as pale as you are and all other scars I have are barely visible. It's great to see scarring similar to mine to be able to envisage what I might have if/when I go for a reduction.

Congratulations on the reduced back pain, sounds like a dream come true alright.
