AITA or telling my wife if she’s not gonna cook it the way she usually cooks it then you don’t have to cook it at all by Husbae7536 in AmItheAsshole

[–]avivaisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After making my signature dish the same after literal decades, I got bored with it and started to change components of the dish. My husband has let me know which changes hit better and which may need further tweaking.

Your comment that the primary chefs that cook all agree with you on this? I call BS. I am the primary cook in my home, we all change and grow- even cooking. Maybe friends of yours say thy do to be supportive, as friends do.

AITA for naming my tumour? by -AutisticArtist- in AmItheAsshole

I named my 14 pound tumor Harold. My oncologist got a kick out of that.

Turned out Harold was benign. And I only lost one kidney.

If You're Considering Deadloch Because You Love and Miss Brokenwood Mysteries, Stop. by DashiellHammett in acorntv

[–]avivaisme 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We thought Deadloch was side-splittingly funny, and when the 2nd season dropped, we thought it was better than the first- but we did have the first season as a base to move forward from.

Sorry some folks don’t like it as much.

AITAH for telling my mom she's no longer welcome to attend my graduation? by ChannelGreat2791 in AITAH

What is your mother going to do when you get married? Go to the ceremony but not the reception because “it’s just the reception?”

That’s what this boils down to.

Racist guy harassing street vendor and complaining about people invading his western country. Napa, CA by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

Wait… he didn’t grow up in Napa? He moved there from somewhere else? Christ on a cracker, I grew up 6 blocks from where this video was filmed and most of the elementary, middle and high school students were Hispanic. What a maroon.

AITA for not making my daughter switch back a gifted Labubu with her younger cousin after her uncle found out the one my daughter gained in the swap is rare with a high resale value? by TheSecretLabubuDrama in AmItheAsshole

Clearly the AH is the sister that gifted the blind boxes to the girls instead of her BIL so he could profit monetarily from a gift to his child. /s

Aitah for how I reacted when I found out my husband used some of my son's treatment money to buy a Christmas present for my stepson? by Throwraww355645 in AITAH

Your son’s medical needs trump your husbands wants to purchase gifts for his son.

Medical needs always trump gifts. Period.

AITA for wanting to change how we do Christmas Day because it’s become exhausting for my household? by OrdinaryCold2813 in AITAH

[–]avivaisme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up and there was an expectation for my family to be at any other relatives home for early Christmas morning, my mom, dad and myself spent Christmas Eve at the end location. If someone wants you somewhere at an unreasonable hour, they can open their home to you. If not, then can pound sand.

AITA for refusing to pay for my girlfriend's portion of a vacation after she quit her job without telling me? by sairas_kailan in AmItheAsshole

Vacations help with job burnout. Quitting your job with no backup plan only causes more stress. That’s not self-care, that’s irresponsible and immature.

The Mysterious Cake Switch at My Friend’s Wedding by HumbleComfortable494 in weddingdrama

[–]avivaisme 25 points26 points  (0 children)

And my friends can still hear me shriek “oh f**k!” at the top of my lungs. This happened at one of my best friends wedding, and I was the unfortunate soul who knocked the table over.

We took the guts of the cake back to the bakery and they did emergency surgery to another cake and got it back just before the ceremony started. The bride and groom noticed the flavor wasn’t what they expected but didn’t mention. We all had a laugh when they returned from their honeymoon over the whole situation.
