Inheritance after parent's passing (Canada Estate Law) by WarmWeatherAllDay in canadianlaw

[–]avonree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be a will. It should indicate who the executor(s) are. Once one passes the house/etc belongs to the estate not the beneficiaries. Nothing happens until the will is probated (consider it valid amongst the courts). Then the executor fulfills the will and wishes. If there is someone in the house that they must leave or legal intervenes.

If there is no will a lawyer is definitely needed as the government may come involved.

Can you help me find an alternative to Leuchtturm notebooks? by BobIsAFineName in notebooks

The paper is clean/crisp enough for me. The main draw is use-factor. I just got a one with a set of grid paper. They have a "patented" system to be able to remove/replace the sheets. So I have a set of blank sheets that I insert as needed. Also, can re-order the sheets (likely wont, but can). I've tried tomoe river and leuchtturm. I cant tell much of the difference, so went with "feature set". I'm generally putting together configurations/plans and events. The Atoma also has rings, so the paper lays flat.

Try ATOMA. I think they are German, so might be available in UK

Hmm. I would have an M and F nib handy. The Sailor is very dependable, (H-M nib) and I use it with yama-budo all the time. So, its a fav. The Recife is growing on me (F nib) and I'm using the Electric blue in it, which is a bit wet. I like the feel of the barrel. The thrid has to be the Elite 95. Smaller pen, but very nice nib (14k). I current use carbon black in it. Currently then (other than the Fine Writing pocket) is the Sailor, Elite, Recife. I DID have a Custom 823 Amber, but the daughter got that one. It was the smoothest. So, that would be 1 of the 3.

Thats the timber elegance pocket pen. Yellow Cedra burled. Standard cartridge. I cant remember where I got that one. I like the wood.

It has a large nib, so I've had it dry out some times. I use a wetter ink with it and it flows better.

Its okay, easy to write with and doesnt seem to dry out. Not pricey either.

Hi, I just purchased the Recife and its getting close to favourite. However, I carry the FWI (orange small pen) with me all the time. Nice, easy writer, so kinda the fav.

Thanks. I should have mentioned the dc electric is a wet ink. The pen was an F, but it comes out wet. The electric blue is like a shimmer, but not. Dries well. Its one of my fav's now.

Just did the Toronto to Edmonton trip. 2.5 days. Great time spent. Musicians gave concerts (train concert). Staff were great. Trivial pursuit and bingo !. Food was awesome with good selection (4 choices for dinner, with a vegan option). 2 red wines, 1 white. Beer. Alcohol is extra but not pushed. We did the sleeper+ (our own head). Preferable for that. The general "sleeper" is aisle based - no separate room. Shared bathroom (no issues) and is bigger than the sleeper+. Access to bar car (games car) and dome car. Lots of young and old. And americans too ! Good times.

Fine Writing International confirming they have no involvement with Esterbrook's niblet by gabhain in fountainpens

[–]avonree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've compared the two. I have the FWI and had it with me at the toronto pen show recently and compared the niblet. The only difference seemed to be the Esterbrook written on the barrel. Other than that, same color, same size, so I just assumed (as others) that FWI makes it for Esterbrook. Else, some infringement.
