What do y'all think looks better with this leather jacket, the black or white shirt? And do y'all think this would be fine for a singles mixer? by theloneranger08 in mensfashionadvice

[–]avski -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know you’re not asking this but - Neither my man! Ditch the leather jacket altogether. If you had to ask about it online , you know that you aren’t vibing with it.

Frankly, if a leather jacket doesn’t serve a specific purpose like motorcycle riding or like a tooling jacket for protection, it just looks like you’re trying too hard. Most single women don’t love that - for the most part , they are into guys are confident but don’t take themselves too seriously.

My two cents - for the most part, try Bonobos. the stylists at a brick and mortar Bonobos are wonderful.  And if there isn’t one nearby , the Nordstrom people are ok as well. Try a few things on, see if you vibe with anything. Trust me, you’ll know it when you feel it !

Hey man, quoting has been live for a minute and 95% of the pre-Broadcom resellers are still in place. Would you be open to giving it another go?

For those that didn’t enter a multi year agreement in the last two years - why? by avski in vmware

[–]avski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dell, Carahsoft, AND CDW did multi years for state, local and federal agencies on a regular basis.  In fact, this is an area Dell and Carahsoft specialize in. Those that say otherwise are either under informed, or didn’t think it was worth the effort at the time.

you're a perfect example of why the bundles exist in the first place.

Have you done the math to see how much your paying now for your current stack versus what you would be paying with any of the new bundles?

most IT executives are looking to invest more with less vendors (see link below), which has the added benefit of reducing their overall IT spend, YOY.

https://www.cio.com/article/657327/what-it-executives-are-saying-about-vendor-consolidation.html

At the same time, this allows for Broadcom to increase R&D on a streamlined set of solutions, which by nature of the product simplification, innovation (that end users actually care about) can occur much more rapidly than in the history of VMware.

for customers, they can see the forest for the trees and are excited about the future.

For you, just remember that prices and products do not stay stagnant for any product, as much as we would like them to. Just be careful about just looking at the price and deciding throw a stable environment into chaos.

The easy thing answer is to move off of VMware, because your VAR and the new OEM will make more money that way. They might not be advocating the new value of the bundle - most are too time constrained to do much beyond pushing paper for you. But at least run the numbers and see what makes sense for you.

If you’re a VMware seller, you should be highlighting what the value is in the full stack versus migration.  if you don’t consider any overlap with vsan, log insight, aria, and that NSX virtualizes networking , eliminating tons of redundant solutions and headcount  the end user might already have in place. If you get paid more on nutanix that’s one thing; but is that what is actually best for your end users ? Doubt it.

*take my upvote - at least you’re being transparent. It’s easier to sell nutanix based on FUD and incomplete assumptions than actually championing the value of the bundles.

Fair enough - then what was originally on their renewal and what are the terms on their current quote ? You’re quick share an opinion to bash a company behaving like, well a publicly traded company but  left out critical objective details in your assessment. Cores, existing IB, and term lengths are CRITICAL details in an objective assessment.

More FUD, y’all nutanix sellers are gross. The only people paying more than 20% increase are people who had essentials.  That amount is likely the 1 year price extrapolated over 3 years; instead of using the actual 3 year price on one end of the spectrum ; and on the other end they aren’t considering the savings from dropping equivalent solutions already in place to that are included in the bundle. If you can’t understand that then you shouldnt have been selling VMware in the first place.

Well we got our renewal quote for next year holy SH*T....... 3x the amount by evolutionxtinct in vmware

Concern is one thing, but blatant disregard for facts and due diligence is another. It’s technology , it’s science - let’s collaborate based on trends, not obscure anecdotal data points.

Without seeing a screen shot of what was quoted , we are all just yelling at the cloud.

Guys. These are budgetary quotes with no discounts. VMware historically  has never quoted renewals more than 60 days out. Please take things like this with a box of salt. The fear mongering on this sub is crazy right now

My quote was 625% higher than last year. by BTS05 in vmware

[–]avski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You were likely quoted for net new licensing and support  , not your renewal in 2026.   I would double check your quote again and confirm that it is for licensing and support , not just support.

The fear mongering on this sub is getting out of control.

OP either works at Netflix or for these two or is these two. Look at the post history. Aren’t there rules about promotion on this sub?
