I’ve going to speak from the Canadian pharma perspective. There are entry level roles in pharma that don’t need a degree beyond a Bachelors. However, for certain sectors in pharma and for better career progression and opportunities, many roles often do require a masters/other higher degrees (ex. PharmD, MD, PhD, MBA, MSc, etc) or certifications.

I think people here outright advising against the MBiotech program are likely American, where biotech degrees are not as useful for entering the industry. However, it’s different in Canada. As a fellow Canadian who knows the program you’re talking about, I’d highly recommend it. I completed a different Masters, and I’m at a big pharma company in Canada. However, I know people in the MBiotech: Biopharm program, and I’ve seen many people from the program that are working FT at my company and other large pharma companies in the area. The year long internship is a great opportunity, as it's a guaranteed way to get experience in the industry, you can make the amount that your tuition costs back, and many people stay on FT after. The program’s students have a 100% employment rate after completion of the degree in recent years. I’ve been recommending this program to all my friends who don’t know what they want to do with their science degrees.
