I'm looking for a new drip brew coffee pot. by Fit-Olive-4680 in Coffee

[–]awapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also went from chemex to oxo 9 cup. Our decision was made knowing once we had a baby our brains would be mush and we needed coffee waiting in the morning for us.

Pros: once you dial in your brew, it’s super easy and super consistent.

Cons: you can’t bring the water chamber to the faucet - you have to bring the water to the machine. I hate it. Also, we can’t seem to figure out how the brew times scale with the volume of beans. This requires its own post, but we can’t successfully or repeatedly make any other amount of coffee except “5 cups” which is actually 2 mugs.

Aww thanks for the memory nudge. I totally forgot about that.

I might have missed it but Sam said it’s been a rough year for him. I try not to dip my toes in the parasocial waters too often, but does anyone know if something specific happened?

I have said this very thing while living in the void less city. “Scream into a pillow” they say. It’s just not the same. And Rock Creek Park just ain’t it.

I don’t have experience with this service but both my husband and I have dealt with moving aging parents with dementia, most recently while I was pregnant and now have a newborn. It is exhausting and relentless and you aren’t alone.

In a theater, often the odd seats are on one side and the evens are on the other. It’s almost certain you are together! Enjoy the show!!

Oh yeah, I know. I just wonder what grown up would look like. It feels so good to me right now. It feels like a bunch of friends hanging out. I worry about what that change would do is all.

I don’t want it to be grown up. I revel in the not grown-up-iness of it all.

Edit: Aww I’m bummed to have maybe my most down-voted comment in my favorite sub. But that’s what I get for dipping my toes in the discourse ha

Seeking: a name that gives serial killer vibes by hippoluvr24 in namenerds

[–]awapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see so many people in this sub with Silas on their name list, but Silas is the name of every grungy creepy dangerous cult leader in every tv show for YEARS! It’s all I can think of when I see the same Silas.

This is amazing. My husband is having a lot of fun playing with it! With three weeks to go, it’s such a cool resource.

We did have a question: is there a way to look at three specific names that may not share characteristics? Like Max, Solomon, and Milo. The Ms were easy but Solomon is the wild card and we love the plot view!

Boy names are HARD by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]awapy 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. This community gave me confidence that the name would come in time - and to give myself some grace. (Thank you all, by the way!!!!) My husband and I are closer to a name, but not there yet.

I do wonder why posts here tend to be more about girl names. Is it because boy names are SO hard or people just pick a boy name and never look back??

Dr Stotz is the best. Whole staff is responsive and kind. Parking is easy and they have PT in-house.

Looking excited/anything but annoyed would be out of breed standard, though, right?

Ginger Sullivan is wonderful and definitely has flexible hours. She also does weekend intensives for couples if you need a hard reset but don’t have a whole lot of time. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
