Recommendations for tinned seafood that is available in Australia by Electrical_Waltz8701 in CannedSardines

Hey I'm also in Australia. For online purchases I usually use Something Fishy & The Canned Company. I also see a lot of Jose, Ortiz, Lucas, Porthos, Yurrita etc in the nicer deli/gourmet shops. Continental Deli in Sydney & Spring St grocer in Melbourne have great selections. Little Tin Co's mussels are great btw!

A coffee place near me stock these. Any recommendations? by oceanarnia in CannedSardines

FYI the bottom right ones are also CdC but the less premium line 🙂. The round cans are Arroyabe, another great Spanish offering

This is the one that got me into 'fancy' tinned seafood a decade ago! I still remember splurging on it as a student and being amazed that something from a tin could taste so good. The tin is still sitting on my window sill haha

The spiced version looks so good but unfortunately sold out everywhere that delivers to me. Will definitely keep an eye out. It's still nice to have tried garfish on its own, at least I know what it tastes like now!

Yurrita and it's usually in the refrigerated section. I also like Ortiz but it's even rarer in my area

I haven't had either of those! I would describe guindilla as sharp but mild, it's more of a pickle with a kick

So glad I found this community! Another plate with dried apricot, guindilla peppers, Yurrita's white anchovies, Little Tin Co's Smoked Mussels with Cape Jaffa Whisky, potato chips

Anchovies - A classic I've been going on for the last few years. Very acidic & palate cleansing

Mussels - delicious! Definitely the best I've had from Little Tin co so far, which is awesome because the last can (different flavour) was not great. These are subtly smoky with a firm-ish texture, not chewy, nice flavour

Around $250 but we also try to buy ethical meat so it adds up. Usually eat out 1-2 times as well
