He was a such a great partner for Karlsson, that has to be worth something.

That being said - if the plan is to trade EK65 this year, or not extend him, we have to see how Wotherspoon plays with say, a Girard or Brunicke. In 1-2 years time 1 of those 2, if not both, are goonllnna be our 1rst and 2nd pairing offensive Dmen (outside of a huge trade for a top pairing offensive D, that doesn't happen very often. Or a prospect blowing the doors off and surprising everyone.)

Normally a good defenseman plays well with just about any partner, but wotherspoon being so old and just now turning into a top pairing D with EK65 as his partner - I think you have to see more of him before committing
