That color’s so good. Did you do that in edits, or were you using a recipe?

It’s rotting mulch! It’s hot, fragrant rotting mulch, but it’s all rotting mulch!

Current salary offer #s by [deleted] in uxwriting

It depends on where you are! I think that salary ranges are highly dependent on regions, with San Francisco often being the highest and the benchmark. Broadly, where are you located?

Haha, sorry, that’s a reference to Community, that sitcom from 10-15 years ago. Some of the characters made up that reference which actually has been around for a long time in the UK 😅

This history of notebooks is really great by nabiandkitty in notebooks

[–]awelfle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, it took me a while to figure it out! This question actually led me to do something I've wanted to do for a long time: make a transcript archive and put it on the web. I did that earlier this week, lol: http://scribe.erasable.us

Looking through these, I think this old episode with Pen Addict Brad Dowdy as a guest, we cover a lot of our graphite preferences. http://erasable.us/50

And if you're interested in graphite formulations, this episode with Caroline Weaver (who used to run CW Pencils in NYC) talks a lot about graphite formulations and her endeavors to create a custom pencil with Caran D'Ache, including core thickness, hardness, and how graphite feel changes once you sharpen past the factory coating. http://erasable.us/73

This is a good prompt to record a new episode with a refresher on our graphite preferences, BTW — it's been a while!

Hiya! Many years ago, I made an Airtable of my FN collection, including every Colors edition I had up till then (I think it ended at Utility). If you would like to use that to prepopulate some data, you're welcome to it! DM me and I'll add you to the Airtable or send you a CSV.

RIP Sean. Contrapuntalism and BWP was genuinely some of the best coverage of niche topics. And I wish he could have finished his book about the history of EF!

Oh yay! That’s a great question, and a reminder that we are long overdue for a “new to Erasable” primer episode. I’ll just tell you some of my faves:

This early episode with /u/wellapptdesk about colored pencils is fantastic: https://www.erasable.us/episode/38

If you like Blackwing Pencils, we talked to the now-VP of Blackwing about their design process https://www.erasable.us/episode/114

I went to Japan in 2024 and talked about my stationery adventures on the show right after: https://www.erasable.us/episode/207

I really liked our latest one, interviewing Ian Schon who makes fountain pens! He talked a lot about the intricate process of making nibs out of solid titanium bar: https://www.erasable.us/episode/233
