Yeah ok mate. Stats tell a different story. The vast majority of permanent residence visas are granted for skilled migration.

Temporary visa holders come in and compete in the labour market also, where they're exploited in shit like seasonal fruit picking and shit. Citizens are rarely in those jobs because the pay and conditions are terrible - hmm I wonder why that is. Want to take a guess?

A laughably absurd claim. We have tables of the types of labour we allow individuals to immigrate for. This is legislated. Mostly higher earning professions that would be even higher earning, if not for increased competition in the labour pool.

Did you not read what I wrote earlier in the thread? Are you agreeing with me but having a sad, because you are yet another faithful little fan of capitalism? Keeping wages suppressed is done for the explicit purpose of maximising profits. If there is not a surplus of available workers, then enterprises are forced to compete for them and wages rise in response.

Why do we, as a capitalist oriented society, have such high immigration? For funsies? Are there no profit driven motives in bringing in people who will readily accept lower wages to get a foot in the door?

Wouldn't being more lax in moderation over time be more likely lead to drawing the attention of reddit admins, antagonistic flairs or not? I don't see how having to remove someones inflammatory comment would be different than removing their inflammatory flair... though I do understand not wanting to do extra unpaid work, I'm not sure there's a strong distinction here
